As I watch the plane leaving for California lift off into the air, I immediately head out the doors towards the black Infinity parked in the lot across the street. Just before my boss left this afternoon he took care of my housing and transportation. Explaining that while I stayed behind on this stretch of islands doing business for him, all my expenses will be paid for by the company. Of course he was even generous enough to throw in a few hundred dollars as pocket change while he was getting ready to board the plane. Claiming it’s for the unexpected bills that may spring before he could get back to the office to arrange other payment methods.

On the drive back towards the rental property, I couldn't stop thinking about the conversation that is yet to come. According to what Phoenix told me on Sunday morning, the less stress I can place on her right now through this transition the better. Although, he didn't inform me of why, just that when I finished with my part I am to follow his explicit instructions of what to do along with telling me that he would explain more afterwards. However, I know as soon as I mention how I was able to convince my boss to leave me behind, he’s going to be upset with me. I just want him to understand that I made the best decision based on the choices I had.

As I pull into my new neighborhood, I drive around to locate her school. I wanted to have a back up plan in case I’m unable to take her to school with this rental car. The problem with it is that while her energies are flowing freely, touching objects that aren’t made from a textile material pose a problem. They leave behind the same marks on her skin as she did to Phoenix. To my surprise there's a nice empty field behind the school that leads directly to the street where I will be living at for now, I smile. That's going to work out in my favor perfectly.

Now that I have secured my part, I park in the school's lot next to Phoenix’s car as I go over the remaining steps he dictated to me. With the housing, car and two possible ways of getting her back and forth to school the only things that are left for me to do is to wait for him to finish his tutoring session with my sister. Then drive us back to the house where we will discuss the rest of what needs to be done.

The minute he comes walking around the corner of the building alone, I roll the passengers side window down per his instructions. Once he gets in and gives me the nod, we then head towards the house. When I pull into the driveway of a two story house Phoenix says, “If you plan on taking her to and from school, you are going to have to take a different way.”

“Why? It's the shortest and most direct way. Besides you told me the less stress the better.”

“I know, but the group home is down the street in the same direction you left. Do you really want her having an escape route?” he replies before getting out and heading towards the side door of the house near the garage.

As confused as I was, I walked up behind him unlocking the door to allow him in first before shutting the door behind us and asking, “What do you mean ‘escape route’?”

He then takes a seat at the table as he asks, “Did you rent this place furnished?”

“Yea. It was better that way.”I reply, still not understanding where he was going with his questions.

He nods looking around the room some more as if he is waiting for me to either grab us some drinks or to sit down. I did both. As I slid a water bottle his way he opened it and took a drink before questioning, “How much do you trust me when it comes to her health?”

“You know I have very little faith in anyone, especially when it comes to her.”

“I know that but you also have to understand that I am the only one who has been looking after her well being since you left. That should have at least earned me some credibility with you.”
