Part 7 - Working Girl

The next morning I walked into Grace's Diner. It was my first day. I was so nervous. I walked in the doors ready to work. Suddenly I was greeted by none other than....you guessed it... Allen. "Hello Cheyenne!" Allen said smiling at me. His teeth were so perfect and somehow I couldn't get over it. "Ms. Debra told me to pick which position would best fit you" "I chose host position because you have a beautiful smile and a welcoming voice" Allen looked at me, smirked, and winked like he always does. He knows it gets me feelin' a certain way.

An hour before the work day was supposed to end, a girl who looked my age walked into the diner and looked me right in the eyes. "Oh hi! You must be the new host! I'm Grace of Grace's Diner; my father owns this place" Grace smiled very kindly. "What is your name?" She asked. "I'm Cheyenne, it's nice to meet you, Grace" I said smiling. "Now I see why they made you the host, you have a wonderful smile" she said. "I like you, you are my new friend" Grace then wrote her number on a card and passed it to me then walked away. Little did I know, she would be a very important person in my life.

I got home and I was exhausted. When I went upstairs, Ondreaz was sitting on my bed with a bowl of popcorn and a movie ready. "What's all this?" I asked. "Well, in celebration of your first day at work, I wanted to surprise you with some relaxation" He said. I smiled. I plopped down on the bed next to him and started eating the popcorn. "Where's my mom?" I asked. "Oh, her and my mom are in the garage having a drink" Ondreaz said. "So what movie are we watching?" I asked. "Your favorite, The Proposal" he smiled. I love that movie. Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock are my favorites! That was so sweet. Maybe I wanted to be with Ondreaz. What was I saying, I couldn't. *bblliinngg* *bblliinngg* my phone started ringing. I answered, "Hello?". A familiar voice came through the other end of the phone, "Hi, is this Cheyenne?" "This is she, can I help you?" I asked. "This is Allen, I called to let you know that you left your jacket here at the diner" he said. "Oh, thank you, I will get it tomorrow" I said. "I also wanted to call to ask you on a date Saturday night?" "When I asked you the other night I didn't get a response so I thought I would try again" he explained. I liked Allen a lot. I guess it wouldn't hurt to go on a date. "Sure" I said. "Perfect, I'll pick you up at 8 on Saturday" he said. I hung up and layed back down next to Ondreaz. I began to regret saying yes. But I did like Allen a lot, and Ondreaz was so understanding. Ondreaz then held me close to him as we watched the movie. We didn't finish it though because we both fell asleep.
