The bell rang as the first class of the day ended. The hallways filled with various students, all in their uniforms, who all began making their way to next class. Gemini opened his locker door and traded out his physics book for his Algebra II book. He closed his locker and began his walk to math class. As he did so, he accidentally bumped a familiar face.
"Fuck, ow," Cancer whined. He held his nose, which had started bleeding after ramming into Gemini's shoulder. "Sorry, Gemini."
Gemini only stared after him as Cancer made his way to the nurses office, entirely unaware of when and where they had previously met. He nodded slowly and turned back around, not even sure what had just occurred.
He walked into class and sat down and waited as the hour went on and on for what seemed like days. Gemini's eyes were glued to the clock and the only noise he could clearly make out from the chatter of the room was the ticking noise that came from it.
Tic toc.
Tic toc.
Tic toc.
"Mr. Killington?" A voice interrupted his thoughts and woke him from his daze. He glanced up to see his teacher standing right in front of his desk. He blinked and glanced around, only to see that the rest of the class had deserted the room. He looked back up at his teacher slowly.
"Yes, Ms. Scylla?" Gemini replied, staring at her through eyes that were barely his own.
"The bell has rung," Ms. Scylla replied, looking down on him. "But since you're still here, we have to talk about your grades."
Gemini just blinked at her. "They suck. What else is new?"
Ms. Scylla sighed and shook her head. "Mr. Killington, just because you got an athletic scholarship doesn't mean your academics are useless."
Gemini nodded. "I understand. I'll try harder."
"No, you won't, Mr. Killington. I don't know where your brain is at half the time, but I'm sure it's not in my classroom," Ms. Scylla scorned him. "I'll recommend you a tutor."
Gemini nodded as she wrote a name on a piece of paper. She kept babbling on but Gemini became fixated on the student teacher erasing the board. He took the paper and thanked her quietly, before heading out to his next class.

Capricorn was sitting alone at lunch, eating her salad in peace when someone took a seat directly next to her. She glanced over to see Taurus sitting next to her, gladly eating pizza. Taurus smiled at her and Capricorn nodded back.
"Hi! How are you today?" Taurus asked through a mouth full of food.
Capricorn's eyes widened. "I'm pretty okay. How are you?"
Taurus smiled again, her eyes crinkling at the sound of the question. "I'm actually doing great. Thanks for asking. You run the Dance committee, right?"
Capricorn nodded. "Yes, I do. Are you interested in signing up?"
"Yeah, I think it could be so fun. Plus, I need the community service hours and it would be awesome to get them with a friend."
Capricorn nearly choked. "Thanks. You consider us friends?"
Taurus tilted her head at Capricorn. "You don't?"
Capricorn shook her head vigorously. "I do, I do. I just didn't know the feeling was mutual."
Taurus nodded happily and continued eating. Capricorn stared at her. They had spent on afternoon together in detention, just one, and Taurus was perfectly content to call them friends. She had heard that Taurus was often social to a fault, but she didn't think it was so obvious. Capricorn has almost forgotten Taurus entirely in their few days apart. They were in the same year, but they had never previously interacted.
