Don't pretend that you've been nice to me all these years, Everdeen.

THE FLASH OF cameras blinded me. The reporters wanting to get a first glance at the tributes from district twelve. A small girl from the Seam and a arrogant boy.

We walked in a pact of ten. Two peacekeepers in front, and two in the back. Ashton and I stood in the front, Katniss and Peeta in the middle, and Effie and Haymitch in the back.

Rory always loved trains. I never did. When a train came to district twelve, it was never good. It always meant the Hunger Games, or more peacekeepers coming. Trains always fascinated Rory. He would always make me get up early, so him and I could watch the train pull into district twelve.

We made it to the train, and stepped on. To say that the train was beautiful was an understatement. It was incredible. Expensive chandeliers hung from the ceiling. Paintings hung on the walls. Lavish couches sat in the rooms, and a giant television screen stood on the wall.

"Isn't it amazing!" Effie gushes. "Two Hundred miles per hour and you can barely even feel it!" I resist the urge to roll my eyes. "How about you two sit down, and we'll all have a chat!"

A chat. A chat about what the final days of my life will look like. Ashton and I sit down. Effie sits at the edge of the table. Peeta and Haymitch sit in front of me, and Katniss is diagonal. Seconds later dinner is served and we pile our plates.

Dinner is lamb stew with rice. Basil tomato soup, roast beef as thin as paper, fruit dishes, and pretty much everything you can think of. Effie keeps telling us to save room for more, but Ashton and I are just stuffing ourselves.

"Don't worry about them two. There's still fresh in training to be mentors. So, you're stuck with the three of us," Haymitch says, pouring himself a glass of whiskey.

"What Haymitch is trying to say is that we're sorry that this happened to you. We're going to try to do anything and everything to help you guys stay alive. This is going to be a rough journey, but I can tell we have two fighters this year," Peeta states, and I look up at him. What does he have this year? A weak girl and a arrogant volunteer.

"Do you guys have any skills?" Katniss asks. "I know Athena's good with a bow." I look up and give Katniss a dirty look, and Haymitch snickers.

"I'm good with a sword. I'm pretty much good with every single weapon. Career material. I'm unbeatable in hand to hand combat," Ashton states, and I roll my eyes.
