Jungkook had become convinced in the short time they had been living together that there was absolutely nothing better than waking up with his mate at his side. He tried to carefully slip from his embrace, but Seokjin was a light sleeper and would always wake to some degree. Just enough to press a kiss against his mouth and whisper good-bye. He would dress in the bathroom and move around the kitchen quietly, making coffee and grabbing something for breakfast before grabbing his bag and heading to his subway stop.
As it turned out, coming home to your mate was even better. On the nights when Seokjin had to work, he would always leave something in the fridge. Jungkook had come to realize this on the second night, when he actually bothered to open it and realize there were two tupperware containers full of delicious home cooked food. He'd heated up both of them and ate until he was stuffed, nearly passing out on the sofa in a delightful sort of food coma.
And Seokjin worked a lot. Where as his job was Monday through Friday and he was almost always home by sun set, Jin often worked ten hour shifts, leaving before he got home and returning once he was asleep. In fact, right after he moved in, there was a ten day period where he didn't even have a day off. Come to find out, he had been asking for extra shifts and taking over other people's so he could afford to help out. Something Jungkook put a stop to the instant he found out. He wanted his mate healthy and most importantly sane. He hadn't been lying when he said he had this.
His mate had promised to scale back, to return to his normal schedule. Even agreed to take his days off instead of working right through them.
So when he entered the apartment and the delicious scent of pork, onion and soy sauce hit his nose, he instantly new that his mate had kept his word. The stove was currently off, the food resting in a pan on top of it, lid closed tightly to keep it warm. Placing his bag down, he toed off his boots, wondering where his Jin could have disappeared too.
"Babe?" He called out, moving through the living room and into the bedroom. Everything was neat and tidy, clearly having been cleaned while he had been away. The sheets on the bed had been changed and the hamper was gone. The bathroom was sparkling, fresh towels hanging on the racks. God, his mate really was so amazing. His one day off and he spent it taking care of their home.
Hearing the front door open and close, he peaked his head out of the room to see Jin carrying the hamper back in, humming a soft little song to himself as he went.
"Jungkook?" His voice was gentle, calling out towards the bedroom as he noticed the boots and bag resting by the door. He had been hoping to be in the apartment when he got back, but he had timed the laundry poorly, starting it late in the afternoon after sleeping in all morning.
"There's my pretty baby." Coming out of the bedroom, he leaned in to press his lips against Seokjin's, before taking the hamper from him and carrying it into the bedroom.
"I've got it, Kookie."
"They're my clothes too. Let me help."
"Babe." Jin's voice was a little more stern, a tone he only used when he was being serious. "I've got it."
"Jinnie." It came out as a soft whine, accompanied by his cute little bunny pout. He apparently looked exactly like Thumper when he did it, complete with stomping his foot.
"Really, Bun?" But he couldn't help but laugh at his mates antics, reaching out to take the basket back, hitching it onto his hip. "If you want to help you can set the table."
"Do I get kisses if I do a good job?"
"Hm. I think two is fair."
"One now and one after?"
