6:30 AM

"Would you get up already?", I felt my dad shake me and groaned. his voice was gentle but it was the last thing I wanted to hear when waking up.

"No.", I quickly buried my face in my pillow.

"You're going to be late. That's not gonna be on me."

"Late for what?", I scoffed. "You never pressure me about school so why now?"

"Because I had a dream!", he plopped down at the edge of my bed, making me sigh and sit up, rubbing my eyes and brushing through my hair with my fingers.

"Yea? About what?", I rolled my eyes. He always thought of dreams as messages from God or something and frankly, I thought it was annoying.

Do this because I had a dream, do that because I had a dream about it. It got frustrating.

"Well, I woke you up to go to school and you met a sweet girl!"

I laughed and laid back down.

"No thank you. I like being a hermit."

"Nobody else does."

"Really? Well what the hell am I supposed to say when I go back to school after skipping out on it for the past three months?"

"Who cares?", he shrugged. "It'll be fun."

"It will not. Go away."

"Come on, Jihyun. It can't be that bad."

"Could you just not pester me for ten seconds?", I sat up again and shoved him off of my bed. He fell on the floor and groaned before slowly standing up.

"Alright fine. Don't go. But I'll have you know that-"

"If I go to school will you shut up?"

His eyes almost lit up.

"Yes!"

"Okay fine. Now get out."

He left the room and I stood up, pulling my t-shirt over my shoulders and tossing it onto the floor.

School...

I hadn't given it much thought because I never wanted to. Whenever it presented itself in my brain, I shot it with a Nerf gun and made it disappear.

Yea, 17 year olds should probably be going to school but honestly, I was too lazy to even walk there. I bet I'd probably walk halfway today before changing my mind and going to sit in a park on my phone for the next eight hours.

I buttoned my school shirt halfway and looked in the mirror, sighing.

I forgot how uncomfortable these were.

And my hair's a mess.

I shook my head and walked into the bathroom, doing whatever I could to fix the mop on my head. Eventually, I got my brown hair to lay flat.

I should cut it soon...

My own green eyes stared back at me judgmentally.

"Oh what?", I snapped. "You got something to say to me?"

Of course, my reflection didn't respond.

"Thought so.", I huffed, leaving the bathroom and continuing to get dressed.
