Charlottes POV
I walked into school the next day, a wide grin on my face as I listened for any sign of Hunter, hearing his low angry voice on the other side of the school.
I started walking towards him, not really paying attention to where I was going and only paying attention to his conversation with the other football players.
"-ell no one about this. Especially Charlotte can't find out about this. And I did not get with her because of the bet, so tell no one about the bet." Hunter's hushed voice whispered.
"Keep telling yourself that Hunter. We all know you did it because of the bet, after all you did reject her, and who would want to get with that?!" Someone exclaimed, sounding like his younger brother Max.
I heard a low growl from Hunter. And then the sound of a body slamming against a wall.
"We tell no one about this. Especially you, Max. Or else I tell mom and dad about Fiona." Hunter growled. "And I told you before. I lo-" He was cut off when I rounded the corner to the back of the school, a smile on my face, a fake one.
His face was shocked and guilty as he looked at me.
I skipped up to him, stopping in front of him and the others, who were all staring at me curiously.
I leaned up, pressing my lips to Hunter's cheek.
His stiff body relaxed when he realized I was probably clueless, which I wasn't. I was pissed off on the inside, I was a bet.
I had to get my revenge though. I always get my revenge, this time wouldn't be any different.
He slung his arm over my shoulder and I wrapped my arm around his waist.
We started to turn to enter the building, but Max's voice stopped us.
"Where are you going? We were talking." He said from behind us.
I turned around, annoyed as I pasted another fake smile on my face.
"I guess your conversation is over then." I said sweetly, my anger and annoyance rising.
Something in my eyes must of told him I wasn't going to put up with him much longer because all color drained from his face and fear consumed him, I felt his fear, a plus side to being a dark witch.
"Never mind, it can wait." He said, smiling uneasily, staring at me.
"It's rude to stare." I said, walking away with my arm around my lying mate.
We walked into Ms. Jone's class, the slutty teacher who planned to take Hunter away from me, and sat in the back, me sitting across his lap with an arm hooked around his neck and legs propped up on the desk, phone in my hand.
I started texting the girls, not caring when the teacher started teaching.
Me- Red
My phone buzzed with text not two seconds later.
Ginger- What's wrong?
Fawn- What's happening? Is it Hunter?
Venus- What's going on?
Me and the girls had a code we go by for emergencies. Red means that person is about ready to kill someone, in this case, me.
Me- I was a bet. I want to rip his throat out.
Venus- Once a player, always a player. Are you okay?
Fawn- Asshole.
Ginger- Tough love. You okay?
Me- I'm fine, thanks Fawn for asking and being so concerned about my feelings, it means so much to me! But I had to find out this morning by eavesdropping.
Fawn- I was getting to that part. The text just didn't go through.
Me- Right...
Venus- The guy is a butt face. What you gonna do?
Fawn- I think I have an idea what she's gonna do, I think we all know!
Me- Wasn't Ginger in this conversation?
Ginger- Sorry! I'm kinda busy though.
Venus- Lemme guess, flavor of the week Ginger?
Ginger- Like you said, once a player, always a player.
Me- Not gonna change your ways for your mate then?
Ginger- Hunter didn't.
I froze, a deadly calm feeling spreading through my body, along with anger.
Venus- Ginger! What the hell is wrong with you?!
Ginger- Sorry! I'm not thinking. Distracted.
Fawn- Who is it this week, Ginger?
Me- Hello? We were having a discussion about my problems and NOT Ginger's at the moment!
Venus- Sorry. What is he doing now? If I could just get my hands around his neck...
Ginger- Sorry. My problems are set aside for now, along with sweat Jeremy... I was looking forward to him.
Fawn- I'm sooo lucky I don't have to go through boyfriend trouble... Are you with him?
I turned to Hunter, bringing my phone up to snap a picture.
"Smile." I said, smiling.
He smiled at the camera, as did I, my cheek pressed against his.
I clicked send.
Me- Does that answer your question?
Fawn- You look ready to kill. Your eyes are pitch black again.
Me- Just what I need. My witch taking over AGAIN in the middle of class. I didn't even notice it this time. Is that bad?
Venus- It's getting to easy. You need to talk to your dad again and ask his help.
Me- What's getting too easy?
Fawn- Your witch taking over. She can take over completely and kill everything and everyone around you. She is a demon after all.
Me- You make one mistake thousands of years ago and you pay for it in your future lives...
Ginger- See? You even think you are her! You can't think that!
Me- I am not. I am just defending her. Big difference.
My phone vibrated with another text, but I couldn't open it before Hunter gripped my chin and turned my head, pressing his lips softly to mine.
I couldn't help but melt against him, loving the feel of his lips on mine, no matter how much I wanted to hurt him before.
He was my mate, I wasn't sure if I could ever hurt him intentionally.
