"Alright you guys, you're free! Go!" I told the dogs as I unhooked their collars. I'd just taken them on a long afternoon walk and was about to spend some nice down time in front of the TV with them.
It was just the three of us as Danny was with Julian in California doing some of their normal training. The two had gone because they both figured there wouldn't be much time with Danny and I's wedding coming up in a month's time.
I couldn't believe it was already mid February. Leo was already a year old, Danny and I completely had our wedding planned, and had our bachelorette and bachelor parties about a week ago. Danny and the guys went to Austin, and Katie and Pen decided on taking me to Miami.
The boys had a good season, but a disappointing end. They'd lost to the Steelers in the second round... 34-20. Not only did that make the wedding seem hell of a lot closer, but it also seemed to assure we'd have some time to relax before everything got crazy.
I sat down on the couch and let out a long sigh. Danny would be home the next day, and while I couldn't wait for him to be back... I was looking forward to some relaxation with the pups. I'd managed to work hard over the summer and the fall semester and managed to graduate from College, so it was nice for life to finally slow down a bit.
I was officially back to work full time, and would be getting a job in the communications department (Thanks to Nick) after Danny and I got back from our honeymoon.
Clay and Claire moved up to the couch and sat down on either side of me. Both of them were down in energy since Danny left. This was the fifth day without him, and it was clear they couldn't wait for him to get home.
Penny and I were due to have dinner as it was our last night without the guys. She was having me and the pups over with her and Leo. The little guy was the happiest baby I'd ever seen and I couldn't help but melt every time a big cheeky smile was on his face.
He'd also taken quite the liking to Danny. Danny was so excited to have the little guy around at practices or even to babysit him whenever Penny would let him. He took major pride in trying to be the best uncle possible.
I could tell he wanted to have kids... and soon. I was getting there. The more I saw of him with Leo, the more I wanted to see a product of us in his arms.
Since being done with school, I'd decided I wanted to work on my fear. Danny didn't know, but I'd been to a few meetings with a therapist... and It was working. I was nowhere near ready, but I was getting there.
I shook my head. Now wasn't the time to be thinking of kids. Now was the time to think about taking the next big step in our lives. We'd be walking down the aisle in 19 days. While it was exciting... It was also so scary. There were so many things that could go wrong.
But in the end I reminded myself that all that mattered was us. Not anything else that happened on that day.
I flipped on the TV and decided on watching Blended before picking up my phone. I hadn't gone through my Twitter in a while. That was when I noticed #ThatstheTea trending, so I went to the hashtag to see what was happening.
Of course there was some drama in the beauty guru community. More drama with Jeffree Star and Jaclyn Hill, too. I'd recently taken an interest in the beauty community because I wanted to find the perfect look for our wedding day. It ended up being pretty addicting, so now I was hooked.
Everything seemed normal as I scrolled through the hashtag. That was when the word "Amendola" caught my attention. Why was Danny's name showing up in #ThatstheTea?
I clicked on the tweet, which had two photos attached to it. The first one was Danny sitting at a cafe, right across the table from a girl with short brown hair... I flipped to the second. This one as at a different angle. It was Danny with his hands together and Olivia's hands cupping his as she looked into his eyes.
My heart rate picked up as I zoomed in. She was seriously cupping Danny's hands. And he didn't seem to be resistant about it. I exited out of the photos and read the caption. "I was walking around in Venice today and saw Danny Amendola and Olivia Culpo together! They're back together! He broke up with his fiancé! #thatsthetea"
"What the fuck?" I practically yelled as I looked at the photos again. In the first photo, he looked so content looking at her. He'd always been so nervous around her since their break up. What the fuck changed that?
I exited out of the photo again and noticed there was a reply to it. The girl had added to the thread. This time she added another picture. One of the two of them hugging. He had his eyes closed as he had his arms wrapped around her. The caption was "omg. They're so cute. I'm so happy they're back together!"
I locked my phone to stop myself from looking at it as tears began to pull from my eyes.
My heart hurt. Why was he with her? Why was she holding his hands? Why were they hugging? My heart cracked in half.
"How could you, Danny?" I let out as the tears kept coming. Both pups, who were now asleep, didn't notice. I slid Clay's head off my lap and made my way toward the bedroom, where I closed and locked the door.
I was due to marry him in a month.
And here he was out for a date with his ex.
