A LOUD CLINK jolted me awake, my eyes widening as I glance around. My mind boggled from sleep. A musky dirt smell overwhelmed my nose, worsening the pounding headache. My eyes sweep the space vigilantly, my body sprawled across the cold dirt floor, surrounded by cobblestone brick walls that towered over me standing up to about 6 feet tall.

"rise and shine greenie." Peering upwards as a voice rings out, I scramble to my feet. A sharp pain stabs through my head at the quick movement, doubling me over in pain. "ugh." My hand flys to the back of my head, touching a soft patch of cotton wrapped around my skull.

A deep chuckle brings my eyes back upwards, greeting a tall dark skinned man. "yeah, you can thank Gally for that later. gave you a nasty gash." The man gazed down to me, speaking lightheartedly. "Where am I?" I demand, straightening back up to a standing position, ignoring his comment about a guy named Gally. My fingers working the gauze off of my head in disdain, discarding it on the dirt floor.

"well, let me show you." The dark skinned man stuck his hand down towards me. Glancing from his eyes back to his hand a familiar tingle of panic itched at my skull. "why should I trust you?" Inquiring, my boot touched the dirt floor softly as I precariously take a step back. The man's hand retreated as he caught onto the fact that I wasn't moving any time soon.

"We all ended up in here the same way you did greenie, drenched, and confused. Albeit we didn't go halling off and slinging Gally around but nonetheless we're all in the same boat." The boy cracked a smile at his halfhearted attempt to lighten the mood, my eyes remained level with his. My hands slowly released the fists they'd subconsciously curl themselves into, though still cautiously ready.

A deep sigh fell from the dark skinned boy's lips, his head falling with a small shake of disappointment. "well I suggest you get comfortable then." His voice was strained, taunt with stress and disapproval as he stood from his crouched position. Wiping his large hands against the fabric of his jeans, he shook his head once more.

My lips pinched in a straight line as I studied the boy. Cautious as I was, I didn't want to spend another moment in this body odor pervaded hole. His legs moved forwards, his steps taking him further away though I forced myself to stay silent.

His figure grew smaller as my composure grew more corrupt the further away the boy traveled, the will to be free from the space growing stronger until the point that I wanted to scream.

"wait"

My head dropped in defeat, sheer will overpowering the strike of stubbornness.  Disgust filled my chest as the whiny command fell from my lips, hating how desperate I sounded.

The boy stopped, having gotten at most 40 feet from me before I broke. "wait, just let me out." Spinning, the dark skinned boy held a lopsided grin as if he'd expected this exact chain of events. If this was his normal ruse, it certainly did the job.
