I woke up ready for another relaxing day. My body still felt like it was due for another day of rest before I could continue with my summer. I decided to text Lily to come over. While I waited for a reply, I got ready for the day. An hour had passed with still no reply. I decided to distract myself by playing a little piano. Threw the butchering of a rhapsody I hear a knock on the door. I ignored it assuming my brother forgot his key. I couldn't hear well, but it sounded like there was more then one voice at the door. I finished the song as quickly as I could to see what was going on. I cannot leave a song unfinished. Through the door window I see Lily and Justin talking to my mom. I gently push my mom out of the way and shift my eyes between the two of them
"What is going on?" I ask them both, but I really wanted to hear what excuse Lily would come up with
"We thought we could have a movie night" Lily answers to both my mom and I
"We?" I question
"Yea, I thought that we shouldn't waste a day" Justin says with an eager grim
"Waste a day?" I question again
"Look Em," Lily says pushing her way through the front door past my mom and I "We want to hang out with you, so Mrs. Collins do you mind if Justin and I intrude for today"
"You know you're welcome anytime Lily and I've seen you around, Justin, when I picked Emily up from school and I'm pretty sure she's mentioned you over the years." She looks at me to confirm. "It's nice to finally meet you." My mom turns to me and says "I have plans, your dads at work, and you know your brother is rarely here, so the house is all yours. I'll be out of yall's way in about ten minutes.
Lily sees that I'm unable to speak from the embarrassment my mom caused, so she grabs my arm and gestures Justin inside.
"Justin, stay in the living room and we'll be right back" Lily demands. She then grabs my arm and drags me up the stairs. When my room door shuts, I come out of my stage of shock.
"How could you bring him in my house and why are yall here together and why did he say waste a day like he knows about this summer, our summer!"
"Is this a rhetorical question?" Lily adds. I roll my eyes in the silence after.
"So let me get this straight, you told Justin my plans for this summer, you two decide to come over today while you were ignoring my texts, and now what?"
"Again, I'm confused, do I answer or..."
"Lily" I yell before she finishes her sentence and loud enough Justin had to have heard me."Listen, I told Justin in the van after we dropped you off the other night of your summer goals. She says gesturing quotation marks. He wanted to help and guess what, he came up with this whole movie night idea himself." She says eagerly. "Isn't he sweet" she adds
"Shut up, dum dum" I say breaking out a small laugh. I call her that all the time but cant help not chuckling.
"Okay now let's not waste time" Lily says trying to leave the room
I grab her arm "Wait did he really want to come over?"
"Yes! Completely on his own" Lily assures
"His hair looks really dark today"
"Darker than his usual pitch black" Lily says confused
"And his eyes are not just green, but like jade green you know?"
"Are you stalling? You better go out there before I do" Lily demands in a whisper
"Okay just give me a three-minutehead start." I say pacing my way over to the living room.
