Hey Everyone,
Obviously, we find ourselves in a strange and unprecedented time in our lives and everything seems chaotic. In Australia (where I am from), our government is implementing many new rules and regulations, not unlike many other countries, to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.
And while this means a lot of people are finding themselves with more free time due to self-isolating, I am not one of them. In fact, I have never been more busy in my current job.
This is strange to me because I work as a simple cleaner. Specifically a cleaner at a school which caters for both primary (elementary) and secondary students education. As we try to safe guard these children, we have been working longer hours to ensure our school remains as sterile as possible. However, I am now being employed to be on site during the day to continuously clean door handles, tables, light switches, etc. This is a massive change to our regular work schedule and requires our days to now be occupied more than ever before.
I don't want to complain about the extra hours at work because it's for a damn good reason (we want to protect these kids) but I am also disheartened that the hours I have to write each day have been shortened even further.
I am currently working on four individual stories, including this one, and have had very little time to make even a small amount of progress on any of them.
As of tomorrow I am on holidays and my hours will be greatly reduced so that I will be back at work on all my stories over the following weeks.
I am sorry for the wait, but I am fully dedicated to finishing this story, so, please stick around because there is much more to come.
