It was another day of torture. Every time they hit her she didn't scream or cry. Wanda didn't feel a thing anymore. Everything to her made her feel numb. She hated the feeling even more than the beatings. The shock collar didn't make her flinch anymore. Neither did Rumlow slapping her every time he...let's not go into detail about that.
They had left her chained to the wall and she hung there, waiting for her weekly encounter with Rumlow but who came was the exact opposite. "God, Wanda...what did they do to you?" Clint asked as her took her off the wall. She didn't respond. She didn't even look up to the sound of his voice. He gently picked her up and she didn't flinch. At first he thought it was a good thing but soon realized that it wasn't. Without thinking, he lifted her up but as he did it activated the collar. He didn't know it shocked her until he felt the vibration. He set her down and examined the collar. "Wanda? Can you hear me?"
She could but she didn't believe it was actually him. For all she knew her mind could be playing tricks on her. The collar went off again when he tried to take it off. It didn't effect her which made Clint worry.
"Do you have her?" Nat asked through the coms.
"Yeah, but i can't move her without setting off her collar. Rogers, i need you in here for this one."
"Kind of busy, at the moment," he told him. He was out in front holding of the other guards. "Nat go to Barton. Maybe there's something you can do."
Nat followed orders and made her way to Clint. "For a secret base. They really have it out in the open. Makes me wish we checked it first." She entered Wanda's cell but if you saw her you could see how worried she was. "Is she alive?"
"Yeah, but she's unresponsive. Awake, won't react." He continued to examine the collar before he had an idea. "This thing's electronic, right?"
"Yeah?"
"Can't you use your bites to overcharge the collar?"
"I could but it would cause her a hell of a lot of pain." She took one of her widow bites and prepared it. "Are you sure about this?"
He stood and looked at Wanda. "It's our best bet." Nat inhaled sharply before placing the bite on Wanda's shoulder. An electric shock surged threw her body but it still didn't phase her. "I don't think she feels a thing anymore," he whispered.
"That thing hurts like a bitch but still nothing." They continued to look at her with pity. She knew that look and hated it. Wanda Maximoff hated pity with every fiber of her being.
Once the shocks stopped Clint went to check the collar again. As he examined it, the thing just fell off but when it did he saw how severe her burns were. The sides of her neck were purple with yellow patches around it. Wanda flinched when the cold air hit her neck. This made her lift her head to look at Clint. She smiled weakly at him. "You came." Her voice was very hoarse, making it hard for her to speak.
He smiled back at her. "Of course we did. We couldn't just leave you, here." She was glad, not because they found her but because she felt something different. The cold air on her neck made her feel something other than the beatings, torture, or the shocks. "We got her. We're heading back to the jet now."
"Copy that," Steve said.
Clint bent down and picked her up as gently as he could. The feeling of his hands on her made her flinch and tremble. "Hey, it's okay. I got you."
She shook her head as tears weld up in her eyes. Memories of when Rumlow first touched her replayed in her mind.
"I got you now, witch."
"No...please..." she tried to get out but all that came out of her mouth was a whimper. "Let me go..." Clint looked down at her to see the tears streaming down her face.
