Kaycee's POV:
"So you just moved here?" Kate asks. Right now we are in her office along with the Head choreographer Chris.
"Yes I just moved here along with my elder sister Delaney. She's a dancer too." I tell her.
"So, Kaycee tell us something about yourself." Chris says.
"Well, I have been dancing since I was 4 years old. I do jazz, ballet, tap, lyrical, acro and my personal favourites are contemporary and hip-hop. I love dancing because it helps me in expressing my emotions. I love doing it. It's what I dream about, its what I think about day and night. I love performing too. Its like I get to share my gift with others and its just an incredible feeling."
"Hey guys!!" a girl with really long black hair says coming in to the office. "Hi I'm Tati. I'm the dance captain." She says to me giving out her hand.
"Nice to meet you!! I'm Kaycee." I tell her.
"She just moved here with her sister and she's going to be auditioning for A-troupe." Kate tells her.
"Oooh! That's nice." She says. She seems really nice. I would really like to be in the same team as her.
"Yeah. Well why don't you get changed and we'll get to it??" Kate tells me. "And I'll see you out there." Tati says and walks out the office.
I go outside and drop my bad on the floor near the benches. I remove my jacket and that's when Kate comes out and says,
"Alright we're going back to the last group but this time with Kaycee. So again it's Sean, Julian, Charlize and Kaycee, who just moved to LA."
I go to the center where the other three dancers are lined up. The music starts and the first guy, who I presume from all the cheering is Julian. He is amazing. His moves are sharp and really flowy. He finishes up and then the next guy goes to do his solo. He looks familiar but I can't really remember where I saw him. But god can he dance!! I love his dance style 'cause its really unique. His arm and leg movements are insane and he did this insane flip off the wall. I have a feeling he will get a spot on the team. After him, the girl next to me performs. She does great too but before I can think too much about her, Its my turn to dance. I gave it my all. I did all my best tricks, flips and bends. I really hope that I get to the next round. As we finish our number, I can hear all the applause and the cheering so I decide to do a couple of hair flips just for fun.
"Amazing job dancers. That was INCREDIBLE. Chris and I will go and talk about your performance and we will be back in a few minutes." Kate says looking really shocked and happy.
"Great job guys!!" Chris says and the two of them go into her office.
I go back to the place where I kept my bag and get my water bottle out. As I'm drinking water I check my phone to see if there are any messages from Delaney. She didn't text me yet so she must still be at her audition. I look up from my phone and see that everyone is talking among themselves and everyone knows one another. Looks like I'm going to have to fit in.
I scan the crowd and I see two of the guys who auditioned in my same group. One of them, the Asian one, looks so so similar. Ugh who is he?? Then it occurs to me. He was the guy from the grocery store. The one who was choosing between the spicy and extra spicy Sriracha sauce!!! My eyes widenend at the realization. I caught him staring at me so I smiled at him and he smiled back. Damn, those dimples. Wait what??!! I see that he and his two friends are making their way towards me.
"Hi. I'm Julian!!" One of his friends introduced himself. "And this is Sean and Josh." He says pointing at the other two.
"Yeah. I know him. He had to make quite a decision the other day." I tell him remembering the day at the grocery store.
"Yeah!! Thanks for your suggestion though. It actually tied everything together." Sean says rubbing his neck.
"No problem. So, you guys go here?" I ask them.
"Yeah. We've been dancing at The Next Step for almost 2 years now. This is our third year." Josh tells me.
Three years in a row?? Wow. That's a long time. "That's a really long time." I tell them
"Yeah. But we love doing it. Which studio did you come from?" Julian asks.
"Oh. I'm not from any dance studio. I just dance for fun and do classes her and there."
"For real??!! But your amazing. I mean your bends and flips and everything were crazy!!!" Sean says.
"Thanks. I really appreciate it." I say laughing.
"I don't know, but I feel like I've seen you somewhere. Are you famous on Instagram or something?" Josh asks.
Oh no. I was afraid of this. You see when I was 10 years old, I did this dance routine "Werk" and Katy Perry saw it and she tweeted it to the world. And so because of that I became famous at a young age. But I don't want anyone knowing that because I work hard every single day to be what I am and I don't want anyone thinking that I got the fame and popularity just because of that tweet. So I try and hide it.
"Maybe. I mean yeah sure." I tell them.
Tati's POV: (Surprise, surprise!!)
Can this day get any worse??? First, Sean breaks up with me. He breaks up with me!!!!! And now this random girl from the streets walk in here and auditions?? It's not like she is any good but we've always had only A, B and J troupers audition. So I don't see why the rules are changing just for her.
Everyone seems really impressed by her but honestly I feel like she's a diva who only cares about herself. I see Sean, Julian and Josh talking and laughing with her. Ugh!!! It's very annoying having her here.
Kate and Chris come out of Kate's office and she says, "Alright dancers, Listen up."
"You all did very well and you must all be very proud of yourselves. Remember if you didn't make it this year there's always next year." Kate says and puts up the list. Everyone rushes to see if they made it to the next round
Yes. I made. But honestly no surprise there. What??! She made it too?? I really hope that someone beats her in the dance offs 'cause otherwise we will be in the same team and I will not have that. She looks over to me and smiles. I smile a fake smile back and turn to my friends.
Lets get this over with.
AN: What's up you lovely people!!!!! So that's another chapter up. I decided to put in Tati's POV cause why not?? And also in the show, Emily who's dance captain does say quite a lot so I thought of doing her POV. Also Kaycee saying that she didn't what everyone to think she was the dancer from the 'Werk' video and she got fame because of it was important. She works really hard and I'm pretty sure everyone knows it. So yeah I just put it out there.
I know that in the first season they just do 1 round of auditions and that's it but I wanted to do 2 rounds with the second round being dance offs (I explained it in earlier chapters in Sean's POV).
