March 2017

A few months have passed into the school year and already SO MUCH HOMEWORK!

I made the conclusion it was offical I hated school. The only thing that made it better were my friends.

We were all getting ready for the biggest event of the school year DEB! The year 11 debutante ball was an event I was dreaming of since I was in year 7

Each year I would see the photos in the yearbook of the girls in their perfect white dresses and the men all handsome in tuxedos.

There was only one person I wanted to ask. Unfortunately this wasn't an option since he went to another school.

I ended up going with my gay best friend at the time who turned out to be a backstabbing prick but that's a story for another time.

The night was great! We danced and we had a great time I felt like a princess in real life.

Now it's time to bring Jarod into the story. Jarod was a boy I knew since year 7 since my best friend had a massive crush on him. My friends and I hated him and his friends. They were all sorts of asshole, mean, nasty. They used to all call us names and sarcastically do things to hurt us.

One day that all changed.

We were all on the bus since all my friends lived near me and Jarod as well.

He was being his same old asshole self, picking on me the whole ride home.

"Come on Georgie why won't you talk to me! We are all friends here" he whines

"We are not friends" I say in a firm angry voice. He made me so irritated.

"But why don't you like me" he whines even more with his sarcastic tone, encouraging more irritation

"You know if you weren't such an asshole! People might like you!" I shout into his face

He didn't say a word as we reached our stop and I stormed off the bus, my friend following close behind.

~~~~~~
The next day things were very strange.
Myself and my friend Ella got on the bus and sat in our usual spot second from the back
As all high schools do, our busses had hierarchy. You had the year 7 and 8 up the front with the year 9s behind them. Followed by the senior school. Year 10 then 11 then the superior year 12 up the very back of the bus.
The cooler you were the more chances you had at a younger year level at sitting closer to the back then the rest of your year level.
Anyway Jarod sat in his usual spot opposite us. As we all sat down it was strangely quiet.
Jarod was on his phone and hadn't said a word.
I look to Ella, "have you noticed he hasn't fired any insults our way"
"Yeah it's strange, very strange"
I kept looking over at him the whole bus ride home, waiting for just one insult or one name calling.
But nothing he just sat there in silence.
About half way through the bus ride he spoke
"Hey Georgie" he politely said to me
"What do you want Jarod, did you pipe up to give me yet another insult" I snapped back and rolled my eyes
"No I was just going to ask how you were today" he said still politely but a little smirk still was plastered on his face
"Oh really ok I'm good thank you" I said sarcastically.
"I'm not trying to be sarcastic Georgie, you told me I should be nicer" he says as he turns around to look directly at me
"Yeah ok" I say still not believing a word he says
We reach our stop and get off the bus. Ella turns straight to me "what the hell was up with Jarod today"
"I don't know" I reply.
"He was giving you some sort of look, do you recon he likes you?" She questions and thinks into the distance
"NO, no of course not he hates me" I say with a little smirk on my face
"I don't know Georgie, I think he's changing"
And that day made everything change for good.
