Zara's POV:
A week has gone by since the locker incident and everything was back to normal. A little over five minutes were left for the fourth period to come to an end.
Our English Lit. teacher, Mr. Murray was giving us instructions for the monthly assignment.
The bell rang and Scar let out a sigh and dragged me out as poor Mr. Murray yelled over the voices of the students to stay in our seats for a few more minutes.
Laughing along with her while trying to rebuke her, we walked to our lockers. My phone dinged, alerting me that I'd received a text. I smiled a little as I read over the text that had come from Azriel. I'd texted him a little over the weekend and he is nice, beneath that bratty exterior of course.
>>Azriel: We're walking together to AP World History. Don't flatter yourself, I don't like you all that much. Just going to the same class.
Scarlett read over my shoulder and nudged me while smirking and shutting her locker." I'm off to AP Chemistry alone," she said, emphasizing the last word dramatically, "seeing as you got an escort to your next class," she finished with a suggestive wink.
I groaned and spotted Azriel around the corner. "Get a life and stop annoying me, besides there's Ayden in that class" I said, smiling at him and pushing Scarlett away.
She pouted petulantly, "Of course you know that, stalker" she grumbled and walked away.
I caught up with Azriel and said, "So, why have you taken World History? Because you don't seem like a person who'd take a subject like this."
He smirked. "So what subject do you think I should've taken, Miss Prim and Proper," he said, chuckling at me as we reached the class. I replied with an offended look on my face,
"Excuse me? Do you ever do anything except being mean?"
"Oh loosen up. Besides, that look on your face is funny," he poked my cheek after taking a seat right beside me. " Tell your loser paper straw of a partner of this class to go sit somewhere else," he said while stretching and making himself comfortable.
I fought the urge to smile and grumbled an 'okay' as the class began. He kept fidgeting around with my pens and notebook but I couldn't seem to stop his mischievous ways of distracting me. At least World History didn't seem all that boring anymore, I thought to myself as I snatched the pen that Azriel was trying to balance on his nose.
As I snatched the pen from him, the teacher seemed to take notice and said, "Is everything alright Ms. Orion?" I nodded in embarrassment as a teacher had called me out for not paying attention in class for the first time.
Azriel, on the other hand, seemed to find this quite amusing as he was having a hard time keeping himself from erupting in laughter. Jerk.
The bell rang and we walked out together to find a very agitated Scarlett waiting by the door with Ayden. She hugged me dramatically and wailed. "This man knows all the damn elements IN ORDER. BY HEART," she said, pointing at Ayden who stood with his hands in his pockets, looking rather smug. I giggled and hugged her back while stroking her hair, "Aww it's okay," I said laughing a little.
She pulled away and glared at Ayden accusingly as we walked to the school cafeteria for lunch. He smiled at her and said, "Maybe I can tutor you?"
I smirked at Scarlett, "Oh that would be great! Right Scar?" I said as I nudged her. She rolled her eyes and blushed in embarrassment. "Go sail your own love boat, Captain Hook," she grumbled. I smacked her on her shoulder, making her pout. Thank god Azriel and Ayden were busy with their own conversation.
"I bet they have pizzas today," she said, looking dreamy. She had an unhealthy obsession with pizzas, apparently. Azriel rolled his eyes and shook his head. "I don't like cheese," he said.
Scarlett, Ayden and I gasped in unison.'What?!"
As she ranted on about how cheese and pizzas were the literal proof of the existence of god, we pushed open the door to the cafeteria, seeing as we were a little early. What we saw next in the cafeteria was scarring, to say the least.
