Zara's POV:
"Are you sure about this? I really don't want to get caught or injure myself," I asked looking at Scar who was getting ready to climb the old rusty gate.
Scarlett grinned. "Oh come on! I'm sure Azriel can get there first with his abnormally long legs and help you down if you want to be a wuss? I can go first!" she jumped and stretched some more.
'Why does she do this? Ugh,' I thought to myself as I glanced at Azriel who was leaning against the gate, looking bored.
"No. I'm pretty sure I can climb the gate myself, no big deal," I said confidently.
"You're gonna fall on your face. You can't even take two steps together Zee, who are you lying to?"
"If we keep standing here, we'll not be able to get out of there on time. I'm going in first and I'll help whoever needs help getting in," Ayden sighed irritatedly and stomped his way to the gate and climbed up and jumped in with ease.
"Me next!" Scarlett exclaimed. God knows why she is so excited about jumping over a damn gate. Maybe it's the caffeine. She climbed up the gate and awkwardly fell to the other side as Ayden helped her in. I laughed to myself as she muttered profanities under her breath.
It was Azriel's turn next. Scarlett was right about his abnormally long legs, I idly thought to myself. And then it was my turn. I climbed up and was picked up and put down by a passive-looking Azriel, as my lovely best friend ditched me and ran off with Ayden.
"Thank you," I grumbled and walked off inside.

"Spill."
We were in the headmaster's office, and I was going through the drawers and Scarlett went through the bookshelf. I looked up innocently. "Spill what?"
She stopped flipping through books to give me an incredulous look. "Save the act. What's going on between you and the moody ketchup bottle?"
"Nothing is!" I exclaimed and giggled, "Why is he being called a ketchup bottle?"
"Because his face is very pink and I don't like ketchup bottles. They squirt the stupid tomato stickiness everywhere but the plate. And now you'll tell me what happened before I threaten said bottle of ketchup with craft scissors," she said, not looking up from the books.
"You're cute," I smiled at her and continued nervously, "Today at school, he showed up late and-" Scar cut me off, whining impatiently.
"Quit stalling, for the sweet love of god! I know all that. Get to the point, just pull off the band-aid. Curiosity killed the cat and it's going to kill me. Also, no luck with the bookshelf,"
"Fine," I sighed and continued, "He, uhm kissed me," I finished quickly, going back to scanning the drawers.
"WHAT?! HE DID WHAT?" she screeched and I flinched. "You and I have a long talk once we get home, young lady," she said, pinning me with a glare. "Also I want deets so be ready for that too." and then she quietly squealed while returning back to search odd places.
"Calm down, he was high anyways. Also, you-" I stopped speaking as I saw a file named 'CONFIDENTIAL' in the last drawer of our headmaster's huge desk.
"Look what I found!" I exclaimed ecstatically and walked over to Scarlett while taking a look over the content in the file.
She glanced up from her couch mutilation mission and glanced at the folder. "Great! Quick, scan it and put it back. You have gloves on, right? What does the file say?" she said, and then quietly muttered, "Only Simon Braxten can keep an important folder in an unlocked drawer."
"I do," I said as I quickly scanned the pages, that were the emails he sent to the teachers following the threatening letters, on my phone.
"I know right, and not have a single working CCTV camera in the entire school. If it weren't for his 'I want to maintain the school's royalty and prestige' attitude all this wouldn't be happening." I commented and put back the file in the drawer exactly as it was.
She shook her head. "He is a dumbass. Not having a working CCTV surveillance system is going to cost him." Exactly five seconds later, she squealed and jumped up. "Jackpot! I found both the letters in a tear in the cloth against the wood under the seat cushions," she said while scanning the letters on her phone and carefully placing them back.
"Let's go find the dinguses and leave! It's sundown already and my gut tells me we should get going."
With that, she hastily dragged me out and headed towards Gate 11 where Ayden and Azriel were waiting for us.
