Scarlett's POV:

I flopped onto Zara's bed face first at around 11 A.M. and groaned. "I would've never agreed if I knew Daniel's was such a classy restaurant; all I wanted was to have fun," I whined, my voice muffled by the perfectly made sheets of her bed.

"Oh come on, it's a great place. And Ayden is a gentleman; this was expected," she said while pulling me up from the bed. I made a face. "Fine, but I don't have the appropriate attire for this fine-dining restaurant," I muttered air quoting 'appropriate attire', my tone sarcastic.

"That's all? What am I here for?" she smiled encouragingly. In less than fifteen minutes, I was out of my fluffy onesie and in an acceptable off the shoulder brunch dress.

"Do not expect me to put on makeup, I said, making eye contact with her through the mirror as she straightened my hair

"Do not expect me to put on makeup, I said, making eye contact with her through the mirror as she straightened my hair.

"You look gorgeous," Zara complimented while curling my hair at the ends.

"It's fine, I guess," I mumbled as she applied some mascara and blush on my face against my will. Once she was done, I stood up and turned around. "Thank you so fucking much, I'd literally be dead without you"

She smirked. "I know."

Ayden's POV:

After a lot of unnecessary consideration, I rang the doorbell and waited for someone to answer. I made sure there were no creases in the collar of my white button-down and ran a hand through my hair nervously.

I heard someone stumble followed by curse words and obnoxiously loud whisperings and smiled a little; it helped calm my nerves.

A few seconds later, Zara opened the door and crossed her arms. Scarlett pushed her away, glaring at her, fixing her hair and offering me a breathless smile. "Hey."

"Hey. Let's go?" I replied, returning her smile. She nodded.

"Why so eager?" Zara smirked and continued, "Give me a call if you aren't coming home for the night," she winked at Scarlett.

"Oh, I will come home, and you better sleep with an eye open if you value your life," she threatened while glaring at her. To me, she gave a sweet smile. "Let's leave before I kill her."

I peeked up from the menu to look at Scarlett looking around the diner curiously. "Penny for your thoughts?" I asked after placing the orders, a smoked salmon and egg salad for me and Belgian waffles, and a coffee for her.

"Just observing apathetic rich assholes in their natural habitat," she replied, grinning.

I chuckled, "You look beautiful today," I smiled. She really did.

She blushed a little. "Why thank you, you clean up pretty well too." That made me laugh out loud. "Okay, I'm kidding, you really look pretty, uh, snazzy?" she said, laughing at her choice of words.

"I'm quite impressed by your vocabulary," I said laughing along with her. I was having a really good time after a long time. I enjoyed her presence more than I cared to admit.

Time really flies with the people you like, and before we knew it, we were paying the bill already.

"I have to use the restroom, so I'll see you outside?" Scarlett said after we argued about who would pay the bill. I got her to agree on the condition that I let her buy me ice-cream.

Once she left, I opened the bill holder. As I dropped my card, a note stuck to the bill caught my eye. I pulled the note out of the holder and opened it, smiling to myself. It had to be Scar, that smooth girl.

"If you and your pesky friends knew better, you'd stop digging around. You think a bunch of teens can catch me? I've got my eyes on all of you, and if you value your bitch's life and yours, you'll keep this little exchange between us."

I sucked in a sharp breath and winced. Did this person, no doubt the psycho serial killer, just threaten us?

"I thought we were going to meet outside," Scarlett said, pulling me out of my thoughts. I quickly shoved the note in my pocket and smiled at her. "Oops?" I tried. She shook her head and dragged me out. "To the ice-cream parlor we go!" she exclaimed.

We drove over to Whipped, a drive-thru ice-cream parlor Scar suggested. We decided on ordering our favorite ice-cream flavors and then swapping. She got me the triple chocolate, which I hadn't tried before and I ordered mint chocolate chip for her.

"THIS IS SO FUCKING GOOD," she said rather loudly, startling me. "I've never tried this and it's the best thing ever you're an angel thanks for introducing me to the food of gods," she rambled on, making me laugh.

"You're welcome, beautiful" I smirked while pulling into a parking lot in front of the abandoned Square Park. I glanced at her while she was eating her ice-cream and smiled a little.

"I like you," I blurted out and quickly started rambling to explain myself, "I'm sorry I didn't, I don't know I've never admitted my feelings for any-" I was cut off as Scarlett reached across the armrest console and kissed me. Like literally kissed me. I wrapped my arm around her waist and kissed her back as she straddled me.

Things quickly elevated as she ran a hand through my hair and tugged at the roots. She was driving me absolutely insane. I tugged at her bottom lip and pulled away, trailing my hand up her thigh.

"W-we're in public," she whispered lowly while leaning into my touch.

"So?" I whispered in a rather husky voice while brushing my lips down her neck.

I heard her breath hitch and she arched her neck. "I n-need to get home," she whispered in a futile attempt at an objection as her hand traveled down my neck, unbuttoning my shirt.

"Your actions say otherwise," I smirked against her lips before kissing her ardently.
