Chapter Five.

-In My Eyes.

“I love everything about you. Every little thing.”

Thunder rolled and lightning flashed as it rained violently outside. A disappoint sigh escaped my lips as I changed out of my outfit and into sweatpants and a T-shirt.

I grabbed my purple and black blanket and opened up Netflix on my laptop. I clicked 50 First Date and relaxed as it started. I was at the ending, when she was waking up to the video of her wedding playing when there was a knock on my door.

“It’s open,” I shouted, to probably my mom, and turned back to my laptop.

“Whoa, I thought we were going on a date,” I heard James’ voice and my head immediately snapped towards him.

“W-What are you doing here?” I stammered. I glanced at my clock, 7pm.

“We have a date remember?” he laughed as he walked over to me and pulled my blanket away.

“Get dresses,” he ordered while he walked over to my closet.

“Why bother? It barely ever rains and when it does, well…” I gestured towards my bedroom window. “Most places usually close up and people spend time with their families.”

“Oh,” he sighed, a look of disappoint on his face. “Well I’m not cancelling our first date. I wanna spend time with my girlfriend.”

My heart fluttered at the title but I kept a calm look on my face. Well I tried but from the smirk plastered on James’ face I knew I was as red as a tomato. “I’m not your girlfriend James.”

He laughed before walking towards my bedroom door. “Not yet,” he winked and then he was gone.

I stared at the door for a few seconds before I watched the ending of the movie. When -I presumed- the credits was half way over James came back into the room with popcorn, twistlers and various snacks in his arm.

“What are you doing?” I laughed as he struggled to carry everything in his arm.

He dumped everything on the bed before joining me. He leaned his back against the headboard with two pillows behind his back and pulled my laptop towards him.

“I told you, I’m not cancelling our first date.” He clicked something on your laptop before he grabbed a bag of popcorn and opened it. “Butter with extra salt, you’re favorite.”

“Oh…” I trailed off as I glanced towards the screen. Saw. “James I don’t like horror.”

“I know,” he smirked. “That’s why I picked it.”

><

Another scream involuntarily left my mouth as the movie played. I hid my face in the crook of James neck as he chuckled. “This is why I picked this movie,” he whispered. I felt my face start to heat up.

When the movie ended James and I laid on my bed, staring as the stars on my ceiling glowed. Drunk by Ed Sheeran was playing from my playlist. “You’re beautiful,” he mumbled as he moved my brown hair away from my face.

“I’m really not,” I mumbled as I looked away. I was never good at accepting compliments. Not that I got them that often anyway.

“You are,” James mumbled as his hand moved to my cheeks. “And I won’t stop telling you it until you believe me.”
