Chapter 2: The girl

3rd person

I looked down again at the little Limia, who's name I learned was Lily.

F/N: "Alright Lily. As I said I'm not going to hurt you."

The little snake girl just looked up at me, her purple eyes looking afraid as she watched my movements. I went to hold out a hand to her. She just yelped and curled into a ball. Pulling it back it only increased my concern that was building up.

F/N: (What happened to her? Where are her parents?)

F/N: "Um Lily, where are your mommy and daddy?"

The little Limia looked up with me with more hurt then terrified eyes.

Lily: "T-there g-gone.........

F/N: "I-I'm sorry to hear that..... so you have a place to stay?"

Lily shook her head.

Lily: "I-I ran away."

F/N: "Ran away? From where?"

Lily: "F-from the bad people."

F/N: "Bad people......Lily?"

She looked into my eyes.

Lily: "Y-Yes."

F/N: "Why don't you come home with me."

Lily: "W-what?"

F/N: "I mean you don't have to stay with me, but just for now to get out of this cold alley. It can't be very comfortable."

Lily: "I-it isn't."

I gave her a small smile and held out my hand again. Instead of shrinking away from it like before, Lily hesitantly reached out and took it in her's. I could see dirt under her fingernails and across her skin.

F/N: (How long has she been out here alone?)

Now with her small hand in mine I lightly pulled her along as we made our way out of the alley and back towards my house. She stayed very close to me most of the walk back. As we crossed the street we came in front of my household. It wasn't very big but not really small either. It was a two story with two bedrooms with bathrooms for each, a kitchen connected to a media room as you walk in. On the other side it had a small backyard we're I kept a small forge and anvil if I got the itch to work, but I'm getting sidetracked.

I walked up to my porch and had to let go of Lily's hand to open up the door. She kept to herself but I felt her grab my pant leg, like if she wasn't holding onto me in some way I'd just vanish.

F/N: (What happened to her.....)

I wondered as I opened the door and walked in with her right behind me.

F/N: "Are you hungry?"

She went to speak but her stomach let out a loud growl as she covered it with her arms.

Lily: "I-I'm ok."

F/N: "Your tummy says otherwise."

Lily: "B-but I'm not allowed to eat at this time."

F/N: "Allowed?"

Lily: "T-the man said I'm only allowed to eat after he was d-done."

F/N: "Kid......(Ok I'm calling Mack after I get her fed)

I went over to the kitchen and started to grab some things out of the pantry and fridge.

F/N: "What do you want to eat?"

Lily: "I-I said I wasn't hungry."

F/N: "Lily, whatever happened to you, you're not where you were before, now what do you want to eat?"
