Chapter 2 - Seems Like Trouble

"She got the power in her hand, to shock you like you won't believe."

"I'm going to the shop after class."

"What for ? The car is fine.", Lucas said as he cleaned off his glasses. "Lucas, it still makes that dumb sound when we use the air conditioner.", I say as I drive us to school. "It's not making the sound now.", Lucas said with a smug look on his face. I rolled my eyes.

I turned the air conditioning on and the sound of rapid clicking started up. I looked at Lucas with a rude face. "Okay, whatever.", he said as he held his hands up in surrender. "Yeah, smart ass.", I say as I chuckled. "I am what I eat.", Lucas said as he smirked at me.

"Who's ass did you eat ?", I ask him, a little concerned. He most definitely didn't eat mine. I don't even know why we're talking about this right now. "It's a joke, babe.", Lucas said. "Who'd you hear it from this time ?", I ask him. He's always learning something new from his friends.

"Shane.", Lucas said softly. "I knew it.", I say as I chuckled. "It's never Austin.", I say to him. "Cause he's a good kid.", Lucas said as he placed his glass on his face and got comfortable in his seat. "Like we once were.", I say. "We're still good kids.", Lucas said. "We get high every now and then but, hey."

I shook my head and continued to drive us to school. Once we got on campus. We parked and got our things we needed and left the car. Me and Lucas walked in together hand in hand. Our signature thing. It was time for us to part ways. We only have one class together this year, but it's okay. He kissed me on the cheek. "See you at lunch, Ludybug.", he said as he walked in the direction of the weightlifting room.

"See you, Locust.", I say as I blush. I head to my locker. Yes, Park High University has lockers. There's not too many other colleges with lockers that I know of except mine. I get to my locker and get my things ready for my first class. "Hey little one !", I heard a familiar voice say. "Hey Nicole.", I say as I smile at her.

"You look marvelous today.", she said to me as she twirled me around. I blushed and pushed my glasses further up my face. I was wearing a rainbow inspired outfit. It was just a last minute outfit. "Thank you.", I say. "Listen, I heard there's a new student.", Nicole said.

"Really ?", I ask her. "Yeah, I heard a group of girls talking about it on my way in here.", Nicole said. "Well, hopefully they're nice.", I say as I close my locker. "I'll see you at lunch.", Nicole said before hugging me and walking away. I went to my first class. Pre-Calculus. The best class to take first and get out the way.

I sit down in my seat and get my things ready for class. "Hey Dream girl.", I heard someone say. "Hey Eric.", I say as I look over at him and smile. Eric was a great guy. He was strong and was extremely helpful. And, he was my guy best friend. "How was your weekend ?", he asked me. "Oh it was fine. Not too exciting but it was good.", I tell him.

Class began. I payed attention and learned and did my work, as usual. College to me was just like high school. There wasn't an assignment that I couldn't do. I'm glad I'm as smart as I am. I like tutoring people as well. I get paid very well. I tutor Eric, Carl, and sometimes Brandon. Me and my girls have study group so we tutor each other.

After class, Eric and me went to our lockers. His locker is right next to mine. "So, I told coach to put me in cause I could win the game for us.", Eric said. He had been talking about last Friday's game. "And that's when you and scored the winning touching down.", I say. "Yeah ! I'm glad you're always there to see it.", he said as he leaned up again his locker as I went through mine.

We just chuckled and smiled at each other. Suddenly, I heard a lot of chatter coming from down the hall. It was loud and everyone was crowding around. It looked like they were crowding around someone. "What's going on ?", I ask Eric. "I don't know. I wish they would all move so we could see.", Eric said as he stood on his tippy toes and tried to get a better look.

After a few minutes, we could see what all the commotion was about. It was about a girl. She had red hair and she was drop dead gorgeous. I haven't seen her here before. She must be the new student everyone's been talking about. She was beautiful. I felt my insides twist and twirl.

"She's hot !", I heard Eric say. I snapped my head at him. "I'm sorry ! I-I mean. She's gorgeous. But, you are too Luan.", he said nervously to me. I shook my head. "It's fine. It's just been a while since I've felt like this.", I say as I look over at the girl. "Like what ?", Eric asked me. "Insecure."

"It's just like everyone hasn't seen a hot girl before.", Rina said as we all sat at our table at lunch. We watched as the new girl sat at a table and everyone just crowed around her as she just talked and fluffed her hair. "She's really pretty and all but, this is ridiculous.", Nicole said as she rolled her eyes.

"Her name is Kendra.", Carmen told us. Even her name was gorgeous. I sighed and shook my head. She was fine as wine. That's what Cappie would say if he was here. And I can see Maggie now, smacking him upside the head.

"You guys think she's nice ?", I ask them. "Maybe.", Carmen said. "We'd have to talk to her to know.", Kimberly said. "Well, she seems nice.", I say. "Seems like trouble.", Rina said as we all look back over to her table. I'm not the type to judge someone just by their appearance or from what someone else says.

I'd have to talk to her myself to know. Maybe she's nice. I'd hope so. I look over to where Lucas and his friends were sitting and my heart caved in. Lucas was staring at her. His eyes. It was like the situation with Maggie all over again. The way he's looking at the new girl is the same way he looked at Maggie when we first saw her.

Lucas then looks over at me. I shook my head and looked away. I focused back on my food which I hadn't touched. I don't think I can eat now. Not after this. I was so confused. Why all of a sudden, Lucas was looking at another girl ? She was a true beauty. A goddess. I believe now I have something to worry about.
