It was a beautiful summer day in Sendai. As the children were outside of their homes to play in the playground, the 11-year old girl named Aiya Yoshida was standing by the entrance, clinging onto a volleyball. A gift that was given by her best friends before she had moved from Tokyo.

Given permission from her mother, she was allowed to play outside while her parents were helping the movers in their new home. After all, she was new to the neighbourhood and Aiya was hoping she could make new friends.

Or at least have someone approach her since she was scared.

It is, different compared to Tokyo and the friends she has there too. But since none of them are here, it is up Aiya now. No Kuroo or Kenma, just Aiya.

Scanning the field where the children were playing, Aiya spotted a red-haired boy, who looked like he was her age, sitting away from everyone underneath a tree. Gathering up her courage she approached the male hoping he could play with her.

"Um e-excuse me..." She caught the boy's attention in front of her. "Do you want to play with me?" Just as the boy was about to speak, a group of boys behind Aiya interrupted.

"Look, she's talking to the monster," A boy behind her said out loud. "Yeah, she was probably dared to talk to him." Another said which was made Aiya confused about what they were saying.

"They're right, you shouldn't be playing with me..." The boy in front of her answered. "I-I don't think so! Whatever they say about you won't change my mind." Ayia confessed and his facial expression lightens up.

"Whatever loser." The same boy from behind scoffed and left the pair. "U-uh my name is Aiya Yoshida, and I moved here today..." Aiya was spinning the volleyball in her hands ever so softly. "My name is Satori Tendou..."  He looked away not knowing what else to say.

"I just moved here from Tokyo so I'm new to here..." Aiya spoke up. "Really!? Tokyo is so cool!" The sudden outburst flustered Tendou afterwards and Aiya knew she can be good friends with him.

"Do you play any sports?" Aiya was the first to ask but Tendou was hesitant to answer. "I do, I like to play volleyball but everyone doesn't want me to be on their team..." Tendou confessed and Aiya remembered why she had a volleyball in her small hands.

"If it's okay, do you want to play volleyball with me?" Tendou looked up to see Aiya holding a volleyball and it lightened up his face. "Yes!" Standing up they both walked over to the small volleyball court in the corner of the playground.

Ever since that encounter, they were happy playing volleyball with each other.

And the start of a beautiful relationship.
