The smell of sweat and alcohol filled my nose as I watched all the mortals mingling into a mass of bodies on the dance floor. Nothing out of the ordinary. I was beginning  to think it was another night of failure. Another night where the creatures of the nightmares had alluded me.
"Back again pretty lady?" One of the regulars drunkenly slurred plopping down on the stool next to me. As usual I ignored him and kept searching the crowed for any sign of demons hunting a poor soul. "Playing hard to get are we?" He asked putting his hand on my thigh.
In a matter of second I was out of my seat and had him pressed face first into the bar. "If you do not walk away and leave this establishment the only thing that will be hard to get is your shoulder back in it socket. Understand?" I growled. Nearly every night this happened. A mortal man with no respect for women thinks he can swoop in and have his way with me. Let's just say I think all of them become sober gentleman real fast after our encounters.
"You're fucking crazy!" He screamed trying to wiggle his way out of my grasp.
Laughing, I pushed him into the counter harder. Everyone around us had stopped to stare. "You didn't answer my question, so let me repeat myself. If you do not leave when I let you go and keep yourself from ever thinking so lowly if a woman again, I will find you. No one else will. Do you understand me?" I ground out squeezing him a little harder. I was stronger than most of the mortals even after being stripped of my powers.
The man whimpered and nodded his head vigorously. I pulled him up form the counter and threw him towards the door. He narrowly missed crashing into several people and as soon as he was stable enough in his feet he ran.
"Nothing to see here people." The bartender announced shooing everyone away. When no one moved he offered a free round of shots for everyone and suddenly the drunk and I were forgotten. Mortals were ridiculous. They'd do anything to quench their thirst for what they want or aid their addictions. Making them selves easy pray. Stubborn, easy pray.
"Where'd you learn to fight like that? Was it karate? Jujitsu?"
Shrugging, I took the shot he handed me and threw it back slamming the glass down on the counter and slipping away into the crowd of bodies. I wasn't in the mood for small talk tonight.
I looked around for any trickle of dark power in the crowd. Grabby hands reached out to me as I walked, all recoiling quickly when I sent the smallest static shock at them. Even though I looked for immortal threats I kept an eye out for the mortal ones too.  Too often I caught drinks being drugged or unwanted attention from men towards women.
Just as I saw now. A young girl and her friends dancing in a tight circle to ward off unwanted advances, but it didn't stop a taller, slender man from popping something into her drink while she danced with it above her head.
Before I could make it to her she took a large sip laughing at something her friend said. Shoving my way through the crowd I took the glass form her.
"What... the fuck.. are you doing? That's my drink." She slurred rocking on her feet like she stood on a boat.
"Protecting you. You might want to keep a closer eye on your drink in the future." I argued back making a point to pour her drink out on the floor before turning to one of her more sober friends. "You need to take her home and keep an eye on her. She should be fine by morning."
Her friend seemed rattled, but nodded before gathering all her friends and leading them away. I made sure they were out the door before I went looking for the man who thought he could get a night of fun with unwilling players.
I found him lurking in a hall that lead to the back alley behind the club. When he saw me approaching panic took over his face.  "I hope you aren't waiting for the pretty little blonde you drugged. I sent her and her friends home."
"I don't know what you are talking about. I'm waiting for a friend." He argued not making eye contact. Guilty.
"Did you slip something into your own drink to make you forget about the pill you put into a poor girls drink? Since no one will sleep with you willingly apparently."
"At least I don't need anyone to pay me, whore." He snarled back looking me up and down.  He was angry and defensive, but I could see the lust burning in his eyes. Perfect.
"Such a nasty mouth." I laughed brushing past him making sure he was following me out. He was hesitant at first, but I heard his foot falls behind me. This wasn't my favorite plan to lure demons but it normally worked.
Outside in the alley he was quick to grab my arm and shove me up against the wall. His lust a full blaze now. I had to stop myself from pushing back. I needed them to catch the scent. To be pulled in by the Sin before I could give this guy what was coming to him.
"You have no idea how nasty this mouth can be." He growled. His repulsive breath fanning my neck as he leaned in and licked the cusp of my ear.
Just a few more seconds. I told myself. Hold for just a few more seconds.
As he trailed his hands down my waist towards the hem of my skirt that was much too shirt I heard a man scream. It wasn't exactly what I was waiting for, but to keep from killing the vermin that was touching me it would have to do.
He looked at me for a split second destructed but the scream before he went to continue his assault. He thought he had me easy. That I was trapped to do as he wished. He was very much mistaken.
I smashed my head into his nose and he instantly stumbled back mutter curse after curse at me. I didn't hesitate to swipe his legs out form under him and then proceed to kick him until he was coughing up his own blood. With a final blow to his temple I left him unconscious behind the dumpster. Some one would find him eventually.
