I relived a death for days
Although it had never taken place
And once my brain had put her body in the grave
He dug her up again
By planting some yellow roses in my head
Saying that the box contained a friend
But in dreams the flowers would turn black and white
So I saw the truth at night
He really did believe that you were gone
So I killed the last of you without even my head screwed on
Brought back just to be finished off:
I can't trust my dreams anymore
——
Clean, thin paper,
Straight from the package
It dances in the wind
And is drenched in water
Because it was dropped
Right after you got it
So the perfect blue lines
Blended together to create a stained monstrosity.
They remind you of that night
And all the soaked sheets
Because you spilt your glass
Over the drawn faces
So their skin melted off their heads,
And tears escaped from their eyes
To mimic yours
And the times you cried
Because your tears were theirs,
Their down-turned lips were yours
And you didn't realize you drew yourself
All these times
That it was just your faces
On all their bodies
You had so many masks
Which one are you wearing?
—-
I'm cutting off ties like hairs from my head
Trying to find which combination of things won't make me sick
And the faces and people
They're all so dangerous
Shoot me down slowly,
Slowly tonight
So I can capture every frame and make it a memory
later I'll swear it was all my fault
But pictures don't lie
Just don't show what's inside
Your dark eyes as you pull the trigger
—-
His chocolate brown hair makes me nauseous
The same way the smell of sweet things makes me ill
He covers it all up,
With a cartoon smile,
Exaggerated and overrated to make you feel comfortable for a little while
—-
I see your chest fall...
Like a child
In a pool...
But it never comes up for air
Or breaks the fine line of the surface
Tell me all the ways that you'll hurt me
So I can be prepared
