Day 45 -
We were finally allowed to leave the hospital and go home.
I had all her bags packed and pushed her down to the car.
I lifted her into the car and she sighed.
"Thanks baby."
"You okay?"
"Yeah."
We finally got home and I wheeled her up to our apartment.
I unlocked the door and Mum, dad and Kaley were all standing there smiling at us.
"Hi." My mum said, kissing Ava on the head.
"Hey." Ava mumbled, trying to smile up at them all.
"You're looking good." Dad sighed, kissing her too.
"I've missed you." Kaley grinned, kissing her forehead and Ava smiled.
"I've missed you guys. I see you've done some rearranging." Ava said & my mum sighed.
"I hope you like it hun, Kalyn told us you weren't really in love with his furniture so Kaley and I thought we would redo it all."
"I love it."
"But wait, there's more."
My dad walked into the kitchen and came back with one of his stools.
"You bought them?"
"No, I made them."
"You made them for me?"
"I did."
"Thank you." Ava said, her voice getting croaky.
I put my hand on her shoulder and she wiped her eyes.
"We didn't want you to cry honey."
"I know, I'm just happy. Thank you guys."
"Of course darl."
I smiled and put her bags on the table, then wheeled her to the sit at it.
"You need some water baby?"
"Yeah please."
I filled her a glass and she sat with my parents, while Kaley put a movie on for herself.
"So you're not in too much pain?"
"Just from my ribs but my leg is doing okay."
"Good, I'm so glad to hear that."
"My um, my pelvis..."
"We know honey, it's okay."
Ava nodded and my mum looked up at me.
"I made you a lasagne honey, it's in the freezer."
"Thanks mum."
"Do I still have to sleep on the couch mum?"
"Yeah honey, just until Ava & Kay don't want us here anymore."
I smiled and sat beside them all.
I looked at Ava and she was looking down at the table, her eyes filled with tears.
"You wanna go in the room babe?"
"Yeah please."
My parents smiled at her and I wheeled her into the room.
"I'm never gonna have someone call me mum." She cried and I sat on the bed infront of her.
"Oh baby, there's so many options that we can do when it comes to that. You'll be a mum one day baby."
"But it won't be our baby."
"It will be. Some of the boys in my team have kids they adopted."
"They do?"
"Yeah, like five of them I think."
She nodded and wiped her eyes.
"You go for a sleep babe, you look tired."
She nodded and I carried her to lay in the bed and she sighed, letting her body go limp against the pillow.
"Goodnight baby."
"Love you."
"I love you."
