"You right honey?"
"Yeah, just leaving the apartment now. We'll be home very soon nanny." I laughed, holding Theo's hand up to wave to her.
"Oh I cannot wait to squeeze you gorgeous boy." She laughed and my dad stood behind her in the screen.
"Hey little guy, you heading to the airport now love?"
"Yeah dad, just getting the last of my things together."
"I told your brother to go down to give you a hand." He groaned, running his fingers through his hair.
"I'm fine dad." I laughed, rolling my eyes.
"Ava!" I heard my name being yelled and then my door burst open.
"Kalyn?" I looked at him confused, why was he here?
He couldn't do this to me today.
It was already hard enough to have to leave him.
"Don't go."
I closed the laptop & sighed.
"I have to, I have nothing keeping me here anymore Kalyn. My family is there, my support system, my home, my friends. My everything is up there now. Theo & I need to be around them."
"Please don't leave."
My phone dinged & I looked down at it.
One new text message from Lex.
I opened it & my heart sunk.
It was a photo of Kalyn & his ex girlfriend at dinner.
It looked like a recent pic.
I looked up at him with tears threatening to run down my face & handed him my phone.
"Please get out of my apartment & out of my life."
"Babe..."
"Don't call me that. I'm not yours to call that anymore. I really really hope she was worth it Kalyn, as long as you always have money she'll be there to use you for it." I mumbled, grabbing my bag and putting it over my shoulder.
I grabbed my suitcase in the hand that wasn't holding Theo & looked back at my apartment.
I let out a sad smile & silently closed the door behind me.
It was sad to see that chapter of my life close, but it had to happen in order for me to move on.
"Ava, that photo was so long ago."
"Don't lie to me Kalyn. There's a date on it."
"She doesn't mean..."
"You wanna know what the worst part about it is?" I asked, glaring up at him as he looked between Theo & I, staying quiet.
"I didn't love you because you had money, or because you were famous. I loved you because of who you were & how you treated me like I was the most perfect girl. I loved you because I loved your family & because they felt like home to me too. I loved you because I seen the pride in your eyes when my business got more successful & when I started modelling. I loved you because you wanted me to be the mother of your kids, you know nothing matters more to me than having a family. I loved you because you were everything I didn't think I'd ever find, you were my everything Kalyn."
"You're my..."
"No. That's changed now. You're clearly having different ways of handling whatever feelings you're going through at the moment, but I've got a son to get home & a family to get to. I really hope everything goes well for you, goodbye Kalyn."
The tears were slipping down his face & I looked down at Theo, quickly slipping past Kalyn.
I got to the lobby & there was a taxi waiting for me.
I climbed in & looked up at my building.
Goodbye Newcastle, hello home.
