Friday rolls around far too quickly, and before i know it, i'm back in Lucy's room, sat in a pink swivel chair, joe dabbing my face with a beauty blender.
"Words cannot express my excitement right now!" he says, continuing to dab my face.
"thanks joe." i say, sincerely, to be honest i'm quite taken a back by everyone's warmth, they've only know me for a week.
joe has a face of immense concentration, twiddling a lollipop in his mouth with his teeth and putting the beauty blender down, rummaging through a makeup bag irreversibly stained with foundation and eyeshadows. joe takes a fluffy brush and dips it in quite possibly the messiest powder i have ever encountered.
"shit. sorry!" joe chuckles, becoming aware that he's just smushed an abundance of powder into my face.
"it's- f-fine!" i cough out, also laughing.
half an hour passes and joe had finished working his magic. i turn to look at myself in lucy's vanity mirror.
woah.
i almost look like i'm from the 60s, a faint pink colour on my lips, and white eyeliner on my water line, the eyeshadow is natural yet noticeable, and the mascara is almost immaculate, man this guy knows what he's doing.
"joe?" i say.
"yes dear?"
"this is amazing, where did you learn to do this?" i enquire, almost short of breath.
"well i'm glad you like it love!" he smiles. "my mom always loved makeup, i used to watch her for hours putting it on, she used to let me do hers sometimes.' he said. joe had a wistful, reminiscent look in his eye. it was fond, but carried a hint of sadness. i wasn't going to pry and anymore. i could fill in the blanks. poor joe.
"oh my god!" i hear a voice cry, Lucy. "you look amazing doll!" she says, taking on a faux southern accent.
"thanks luce." i say.
"i have your outfit, i think you'll love it." she says, laying down the clothing on her bed, from what i can tell, it's a black dress.
"there's a bathroom on the right of the hallway, you can change in there."
"thanks luce, i appreciate it so much!"
"any time babes!"
the dress is black with white spots, it's a square neck, and it has long sleeves. casual but dressy. perfect.
lucy suggested i pair it with a jean jacket and some doc's, so that's what i did.
i leave my hair down, brushing it, i think it looks good with the look.
once i'm happy with it, i emerge from the bathroom, opening the door to lucy's room. joe and lucy are sat on her bed, awaiting my return.
"woah." they both say in unison, causing a pink flush to start growing on my cheeks.
"babes you look stunning!" lucy exclaims.
"not as stunning as you though." i say, it's true, lucy was beautiful.
"oh shut it, we're both hot!" she dismisses, causing the three of us to erupt into laughter.
"now you know i am a happily married man." joe starts, causing lucy and i to collectively scoff . "but i'm seriously starting to question things now my dear because you are just fabulous!" he exclaims, throwing his arms in the air.
"thanks guys." i say, beaming from ear to ear. i haven't felt this happy in a long time.

Lucy and Joe then got ready - and of course looked bloody fabulous- and then off we went in joe's car. rami was driving gwil and ben. and we'd all meet at the cafe.
the car journey was around 10 minutes, and joe blasted 'Cool Cat' by queen at the highest volume, dancing along in his seat, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel. we all collectively begin to sing, the car erupting into an impromptu carpool karaoke.
the nerves truly started to set in once we had arrived. the cafe was small, must of had around 5 tables inside, and a flickering 'open' sign that looked as if it was on its last legs. it was charming, cute.
i then feel two arms linking between each of mine, joe on the right, lucy on the left.
"he is going to-" joe starts.
"die!" lucy finishes. *mY mOm muSt be DyInG, like DyInG*
ben texts us that they're going to be ten minutes late, stopping so gwil could help an old lady unload shopping into her car. to say my heat didn't melt at that would be a lie. (p u r e)
ben assures us that we should grab a table and wait. we enter the cafe, a short, grey haired lady smiling sweetly at us. "hiya joe! hiya lucy! and- just who do we have here?" she enquires, teaching out to hold my hand, beaming at me.
"i'm delilah!" i say. "i'm new to the area."
"well i think you'll getting on perfectly here, especially with these wonderful people." she says warmly, grasping my hand. "my oh my she's gorgeous isn't she!" she says, turning to lucy and joe.
"are the rest coming?" the sweet lady enquires.
"oh yes, they're just a bit late, gwil stopped to help a lady with her shopping." joe says.
"bless that boy." she smiles "such a sweet lad!" (am i the old woman-)
we sit down at the table, getting situated. five minutes later, we hear the bell on the door ring.
"babe!" joe exclaims. and the three boys turn around to our booth. rami sends a quick wave in our direction, before making his way over. ben does the same.
gwil stays and chats to the sweet lady, before turning around.
gwil turns around and then freezes , his mouth opening slightly and his gaze pointed at me, we lock eyes for a moment, i smile at him and call him over. ( ö )
"hiya guys!" ben starts, kissing joe on the cheek before taking his seat next to him. "hey, deli, just wanted to say sorry for-"
"no need to apologise, it's in the past, you did nothing wrong." i say, smiling at him.
(i will build upon this friendship because i think it's so wholesome and i want them to be best buds)
we all meet and greet eachother, gwil hesitantly taking a seat next to me in the booth.
i shoot a shy but welcoming smile at him, he reciprocated.
(it's gettin wholesome up in this bitch, imma go eat an easter egg and cry, see ya loves x)
