Finding Arthur

Merlin stared into Morgana's panicked eyes, not knowing what to do. She whimpered as the knife pressed against her throat, threatening to slice it open. The person who had grabbed her was wearing a cloak, covering their face that was probably wearing an evil smirk. Every time Merlin went to move, to get to his feet, Morgana would cry in pain due to the knife getting closer and pressing deeper onto her throat. If he continued, the blade would make her bleed out.

Merlin pulled his feet under him, not looking away from Morgana who was trying to wear a brave face, yet the fear in her eyes was unmissable.

"Let her go!" Merlin yelled, only getting a sinister chuckle from the cloaked figure. "I'm warning you, if you don't let her go you'll regret it." Again, Merlin earnt a chuckle from the figure, one thing that was different this time however was that the figure nodded to someone. A few seconds later, Merlin was lifted to his feet, a knife to his own throat.

Morgana whimpered again as the cloaked figure pulled her head back.

"What do you want? Money? We don't have any on us right now." The cloaked figure just grunted and held a cloth to Morgana's face. She struggled at first but then went limp.

"You." A deep voice came from the figure as he nodded towards Merlin. "You are not going to struggle or try anything or the Lady Morgana will end up hurt, okay?" Of course, this made Merlin nod, fearing for Morgana's safety. All he wanted to do was keep her safe and this was completely the opposite.

The knife was removed from Merlin's throat and he willingly followed them. This was for Morgana's safety he would tell himself yet he didn't quite believe it, nothing seemed to be going right anymore. Arthur had gone missing, Merlin was failing his destiny. He sighed as he watched his feet follow the figures.

There was nothing that Merlin did better than fail everyone, he used to think that what he did best was protecting Arthur yet he realised that Arthur was fine before Merlin had come into his life. Was Merlin kidding himself when he thought that Arthur needed him? Was Merlin just a simple servant who was useful to Arthur when polishing his armour? Merlin failed at being a good servant at times, making him feel completely useless.

They were taken to a large tower that was in the middle of the woods, it was really a mystery to how this had never been seen from inside the walls of Camelot. The tower soared above the trees, looking really out of place.

A few moments later, Merlin was shoved to the ground, his face hit the floor and everything went black.

Morgana woke up first, she was in the corner of a small cell, alone. Her arms ached and her neck stung, she traced a small scar that had started to form just under her chin. At first she tries to stand but then noticed the shackles around her wrists.

She looked towards the door, it had a small glass window, the glass was mostly shattered but what was left in one piece showed part of a mosaic. Morgana looked at the rest of the cell, it was pretty empty but the walls were cracked and the floor covered in sawdust.

She tried once again to stand, this time she was successful, the shackles on her wrists weren't comfortable but also weren't exactly the strongest. If she just tried hard enough, maybe she could magic them open, so she could free herself.

Merlin woke up, his head pounding, he felt dizzy. When he looked around, he noticed that he wasn't alone. Laid on a small stone platform was Arthur. Maybe Merlin was supposed to be as useless as he was, at least now he knew where the Prince was.

Arthur was laid facing the wall, leaving Merlin to just assume that he was either sleeping or unconscious. As Merlin tried to get to his feet, he cried out in pain, suddenly aware of a giant wound on his leg. What had happened after he fell into the darkness?

He rested his leg on the floor again and looked at the wound, there was dried blood making his trousers somewhat crusty. He rolled up the edge of his trousers to reveal a large cut that spread from his knee to his ankle. It was a miracle that it had already started to scar over.

Sorry for the late update. I promise to start updating this more, I just had to break through a massive writer's block. This pandemic is taking a lot of my energy and will to write. I'm going to school soon though so I will be able to have a distraction from it all.
