When the two ragnarssons were reunited, it was like a spark was fired off. Ivar's plot for revenge was finally coming together. But that wasn't his only plot any more. He was full of plots and schemes, dangerous ones at that - but that was just his entire existence in summary, he lived for the chaos that followed him around, and the thrill that came from causing it. He didn't deal well with authority and never had, the Heathen Army was evidence of that - and they were his brothers. Oleg wasn't his blood. What loyalty would he ever owe him?
All that being said, there was one singular person that had managed to find their way into his heart. Igor was a child, being used as a pawn in a game that wasn't his own. Perhaps it was the fact that he was a father, and Igor reminded him of his own lost child. But then again, perhaps it was just Ivar's nature - to love and to love with all his heart. Though many thought he was heartless, the few that had experienced the warmth of his love knew that there was no one that felt the ordeal of love deeper than the revered Ivar The Boneless.
Nevertheless, the young boy had sparked something in the Viking. Ivar looked after him, through everything, comforting him. At first, perhaps it was all just some game to screw with Oleg, showing the boy his power would mean taking it away from the prince. However, in time, it became more. The idea of something bad happening to Igor was one that Ivar didn't want to experience. Ever.
After the battle of Kattegat, everyone presumed that Ivar's schemes were done. Harald gone, Bjorn gone, everything magically falling into order as Ivar's plots always did.
He had his home back, yes. But he was far from done. No.
It had all only just begun.
No one quite caught on to his mastermind of plots, but the idea that Oleg could use him as a puppet leader was laughable. He was the master of using puppet leaders. And, as clever as the Rus Prince was, he was never - and could never be - Ivar The Boneless. Oleg seemed to have done a lot to prove himself, but there was just something within Ivar's mind - something that made him practically unstoppable. And this time, this time he had no wife, no daughter to worry for, no traitors in his midst that he had entrusted. This time, everyone was the enemy.
And may the Gods help any enemy of his.
Smh guys I love him🥺💕
