It was Valentine's Day I hope this year will be different now that I got Spot with me. I woke up to a brightly lit room and a smile on my face. Pure happiness was raging through me, I can't remember ever just waking up happy but it felt good and it made me sure that my day was going to be great. I jumped down from the top bunk expecting to swallow Spot in a bunch of kisses when I saw him but he wasn't there. My happiness went away, I started to get worried. I got dressed and decided to head downstairs to ask the boys about Spot. When I opened the door I saw a vase with roses and a card. He remembered when I told him that roses are my favorite even though it's so basic. I opened up the card to see some cursive writing.

Aww Spot is doing a scavenger hunt these things are so fun. I had no idea what this meant. Does it have something to do with Spot's key, do I have to go to his throne. I walked down the stairs but I was going kind of fast so it sounded like I was stomping down the stairs. "Hey y/n." The guys all said.
"Hey guys."
"So I bet Spot has got something special planned for you, huh?" Slicks said, Someone hit him on the shoulder. "Yeah, I'm going on a scavenger hunt, could you guys help me with this clue?"
"Yeah sure." I handed the guys the card with the clue on it. "Our love cannot be broken but only with a key come down and enjoy the view with me." Nook read, he's one of the few of us that can read and he also loves reading so that is why we call him Nook. "Maybe he means his key so his throne maybe." Slicks suggested.
"That's what I thought but I wanted to make sure but it also says come down and enjoy the view not up." I shrugged not knowing what to do. "Maybe he means the Brooklyn bridge people put locks on there all the time." Nook said. I nodded. "Yeah but it's going to take forever to find one specific lock." I sighed.
"Maybe you can take some of us to help you look." I nodded and took Slicks, Nook, and Buttons. We arrived at the bridge about five minutes later and saw a whole wall of locks on the bridge all really close together which made it harder to see the initials. "Oh my." Buttons said. "This is going to take a while." Slicks added. "Wait y/n, didn't you two meet on the bridge?" I snapped my fingers at the idea.
"Good thinking Nook let's go." We ran pretty close to the end of the bridge. I saw a padlock hanging with S and (enter initial here) written on it with a date. A card was taped to the lock. The card read:
I know you like the beach so let's get some ice cream.
"There aren't any ice cream stores by the beach." I said.
"No but what about Coney Island, cause you know you put ice cream in cones."
"Good thinking Buttons." We started off towards Coney Island beach. I walked toward the bench where Spot and I had our first kiss, he took me to Coney Island on our first date. I saw a Mariachi band sitting on the bench, I was pretty confused and so were the other newsies. One of them came up to me. "Excuse me are you Miss, Y/n?" I nodded. "Uno, dos, tres!" He yelled and they started playing a familiar song. The song was Proud Corazon from Coco.(Play song) After the line "and you knew every word and we all sang along." All of us started singing and dancing. After they finished the song everybody around us clapped including us. The guitarist gave me a card and they all headed in a different direction. I read the card. "You're my queen and I'm your king, meet me where we rule over our thieves."
"Well that's a little rude." Slicks said.
"I'm sure he couldn't find anything else." He is probably talking about his throne or our throne. "I bet he is talking about the throne." I said, the boys nodded in agreement and we all headed to our throne. When we got there I saw a box sitting on top of the throne. I opened the box and saw a key necklace inside. I covered my mouth in shock, the necklace was beautiful, it was similar to Spots but mine was silver. There was another card in the box.
Enough with the games meet me on top of our home.
"I think this is where we must leave you to finish your journey." Slicks said, I nodded and they began to walk away. I decided to grab Spot's present which seems pretty lame now compared to what he's done for me. I decided to write a quick little message on the card to make it more special. I put the card back into the bag and headed up the fire escape to the roof. When I got up I saw a path of rose petals to a candle lit table with dinner on it. I gasped out of surprise. Spot turned around and smiled at me. I ran up to him and planted a kiss on his lips. The sun was just starting to set. I pulled away and laughed, I handed Spot the gift bag. "My gift seems kind of lame now." I said. Spot shook his head
"Nonsense, you always have a way with words." He wasn't wrong, I make pretty powerful stuff. Spot opened the card and started reading. I saw tears in his eyes and he doesn't cry. He looked up at me and smiled. "You love me?" I smiled and nodded.
"Of course I do Spotty!"
"I love you too y/n." Spot swallowed me in a hug and gave me a kiss. "I've been waiting to say that since I first laid my eyes on you."
"Aww, Spotty."
"I Hope the guys weren't too helpful with hints." Spot laughed.
"Nope, they were perfect. I got most of them too."
"I knew you would, you're pretty smart." Spot pulled out my chair for me to sit down.
"So you had me run around all of Brooklyn just for me to come back to here?"
"Yeah sorry, I had to buy me some time to set up." I set my hand on Spot's.
"It's perfect." He smiled. "I didn't know you had such good handwriting." I said.
"I don't, I had Curvy write it." I laughed.
"Of course you did." Curvy was the only one of us that could write in pretty cursive which is why we call him Curvy. We finished our dinner and Spot turned on some music. He turned on A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman.
We started to dance.
"You ready?" Spot asked. I nodded, really nervous. I ran to the edge of the building leaning over the edge and Spot grabbed me hand to keep me on the roof, he pulled me back, spun me and dipped me. I let out a sigh of relief. "I can't believe we just did that." I laughed still shocked.
"Me too, I was super nervous."
"Well thank you for not showing it." I patted Spot's shoulder, he pulled me back to my feet.
"You know I would never let my queen fall."
"Except fall for you."
"Yeah, except falling for me."
