Hurts So Bad

The day of Oak Lake- Swellview game was hard. Charlotte was scared to death to see Grant, the problem being that she knew it was unavoidable. She was a cheerleader for the Swellview Knights and Grant was the shooting guard for Oak Lake. The only thing that made her feel better was knowing that Henry would be there the entire time if she needed him. She rolled over on the bed so she could look at Henry, who was still sleeping next to her. She laid her head closer to him while he slept.

I can feel you watching me. He muttered and opened his eyes.

Oh. I love watching you sleep. She admitted.

That's funny because I love watching you too. You look so peaceful. It looks like the whole thing with Grant never happened to you. he told her lacing their fingers together.

That's only when I'm sleeping beside you. You make me feel safe. she told him.

I'll always be here. he told her kissing her hand that was still laced with his. She smiled and glanced at the alarm clock at the end of the table.

We should get up. You have a team meeting and Chloe has instructed all the cheerleaders to get a early practice before our routine today. she said reluctantly.

Okay. he said reluctantly. Charlotte unlaced her fingers and went to take a quick shower. Henry laid in bed until she finished her shower and knowing it would do no good for either of them if he were to join her in the shower. A few minutes later, she came out dressed in her uniform.

Get out of bed. We have to be downstairs in 20 minutes she admonished. Henry laughed at her expression and he knew there was nothing more she hated than to be late.

Fine. I'll be out in a few minutes. he said. Charlotte smiled as she walked him away. He had the ability to make butterflies flutter in her stomach without even touching her. He was it for her, she was sure of that. Once he was finished, They walked hand in hand to the elevator to where the rest of the team and cheerleaders were meeting at. Charlotte smiled because she knew they weren't late and Chloe and Jasper had yet to arrive.

Hart. Paige. Thank you for joining us. Where are your roommates? the coach asked.

When I left the room, Chloe was still showering. Charlotte said surprised at how easy it was to make that lie and for it to come out of her mouth with no problem.

Yeah, Same with Jasper. I'll text him if you want. Henry told the coach.

Yes, do that. We can't leave here until everyone is here. Charlotte, Text Chloe as well. The coach ordered. Before they could even text them, Chloe and Jasper appeared next to Henry and Charlotte.

Thank you for joining us, Mr. Hart and Mrs. Hartman. you two do realize that we have a game that's in 2 hours? he told them.

Sorry, We are a little late coach. Our alarm clocks didn't go off as expected. Jasper said.

Then how did Henry and Charlotte get here on time? the coach asked.

Charlotte has an internal alarm clock and was up really early. She texted Henry to get up. He just didn't give us the memo. Jasper said defensively.

Fine. Let's go to the gym. The coach instructed. The students all climbed onto the bus and went to Oak Lake gym where they would be playing.

When the bus pulled up in front of the school Henry felt Charlotte stiffen up right next to him.

Baby, are you okay? he asked.

I'll be fine. she told him.

Are you sure? I have to go to the locker room to get ready for the game. Will you be okay with Chloe? he asked concerned.
