You felt someone gently shaking you, and you opened your eyes slowly. The light in the clearing returned, and you could see Leon looking down at you. You blinked your eyes a few times, looking over to where Hop was standing a few feet away. He's was looking at you, his eyes wide. You pushed yourself to your feet, relaxing as your head slowly cleared. Suddenly the memories returned to you, and you glanced around wildly.

"Lee! I'm surprised you found your way here, considering how horrible you are with directions," Hop teased, trying to lighten the mood. He walked over to you, placing his hand on your shoulder again. "Are you alright?" You nodded in response, not trusting your voice. You hated seeming weak in front of your best friend and his older brother. Especially his older brother, considering he happened to be the unbeatable champion of Galar.

"Says my little brother who almost gave me a heart attack! Honestly Hop, what were you two doing out here? I found your both passed out on the ground!" Leon looked more worried than angry, and you honestly couldn't blame him. You and Hop have each other a quick look. Don't say anything stupid...

"There was a Wooloo who broke down the fence and came in! We had to help it," Hop defended himself, crossing his arms.

"Well, the Wooloo is fine," Leon beckoned over to Charizard, who was standing next to the fluffy creature . "Come on," Leon said, "we should go say goodbye before heading over to the professor's lab. "

"But what about the strange Pokémon? The one that caused all the fog?" Hop pointed back in the direction where the woods led, deeper into the dark and mist.

"What Pokémon? What fog? There wasn't either of those two things when I arrived here," Leon was looking at his younger brother with furrowed eyebrows, an unreadable expression on his face.

"There was a Pokémon! It looked like.. Like... I don't know... But our attacks weren't doing anything! Then the fog came and... Now we are here. Right (Y/N)? I'm not crazy! You saw it too," Hop turned to you, his eyes desperate for Leon to understand. You nodded, looking at Leon.

"Hmm... That's strange...," he admitted, shaking his head. He turned to walk back out of the forest , leaving you and Hop to trail behind him. "Whatever it is, it's gone now. You two need to stop by and say goodbye before we leave, remember."

"Yeah yeah, I know...," Hop nodded, clearly thrown back by the mysterious encounter. You have a quite mhm to show you understood, still trying to piece together what happened. What type of Pokémon doesn't take any damage? You pushed the thoughts out of your mind, trying to focus on the adventure ahead.

Suddenly Leon chuckled, turning his head back to look at you two. He looked from Hop to you and back again before speaking. "You two are already getting in trouble together, I wonder how in Arcesus' name you'll not find anymore on your journey."

Hop had a sheepish grin on your face while looking at you, and You just rolled your eyes.

...

"Hey mum," you pushed the door open, seeing your mum standing in the mudroom waiting. She instantly gave you a giant hug, resting her head on yours.

"I'm so proud of you...," she whispered to you.

"I know," you whispered back, closing your eyes and enjoying her embrace. You two had grown extremely close since the incident.

   "I'm going to miss you."

"I'm going to miss you too."

"Stay strong, and chase after your dreams," she pulled away, placing her hands gently on your cheek and smiling. "There is something waiting for you at the professor's house. Make sure you have plenty of room when you open it."
