SUNDAY

_______

JIMIN WAITED NERVOUSLY OUTSIDE OF HIS APARTMENT BUILDING FOR YOONGI,FIDDLING WITH THE SLEEVES OF HIS SWEATER. He glanced down at his appearance and wondered if it was too much. He wore ripped blue jeans, and an oversized white sweater. On his feet were a brand new pair of converse – a light pink – and even though Yoongi had some sort of hatred towards converse, they a) went with his outfit and b) made him feel cute so Yoongi was going to have to suck it up. Besides, he wasn't working. They were just going to catch up, like the good old days, so it was okay. Right?

The sun was shining brightly, and there was a warm breeze that ruffled his hair. He glanced down at his phone, checking the time. It was almost 12:15, Yoongi would be there any minute. He wondered what his car looked liked, and thought about texting him so he knew what to look out for, but in that moment he could see a blonde haired boy walking in his direction. He squinted in the sun before smiling. He waved, and the boy smiled back.

Yoongi peered down and raised his eyebrow. "Pink Converse?"

"Shut up, they match my outfit," Jimin teased, shoving his phone into his pocket. Yoongi laughed.

"It's cute," he commented. Jimin could feel the heat in his cheeks.

"I thought you were driving," Jimin said, changing the subject.

"I hate driving downtown. Too much traffic, besides, we're not going far," Yoongi said. He held his out for Jimin to take and with a soft smile added,"I'm not your boss. Today, I'm just an old friend," Jimin rolled his eyes playfully, and took Yoongi's hand, squeezing it.

"What about tomorrow?" he teased. "Are you going to pretend to ignore me?"

Yoongi tugged him down the sidewalk with a laugh. "I couldn't if I wanted to. You're my secretary, remember?"

"Ah yes, of course. Well then, are you going to talk to me in a serious and dry tone that you use on your other employees?"

"No, because unlike like you, they don't do their jobs half as well as you do," Yoongi added, a bit more seriously."And I'm not just saying that cause we're friends o-or y'know what I mean, cause I know you and all, but seriously. You do your job very well for someone who's never done secretarial work."

"Well thank you," Jimin mumbled, a little embarrassed. He could feel his cheeks heating up again as he allowed Yoongi to lead him down the street and around the corner.

They walked in a comfortable silence, occasionally stealing glances when they thought the other wasn't looking. This moment reminded Yoongi of the time they once went to lunch together, when Jimin was still a freshman in high school. It had been a sunny day like this, and Jimin had suggested they go outside for once. He teased him about needing sun cause he was such a vampire. So he let Jimin drag him to a local cafe near their school and they ate lunch together outside of school for once.

"What'cha thinking about?" Jimin asked, looking up at him with a cheeky grin."Stats? Future song ideas?"

Yoongi laughed.

"No, just...remember the time we went out for lunch in school?" he asked. Yoongi felt a little too hopeful. There was a possibility that Jimin wouldn't remember, and he wouldn't be surprised if he didn't. He didn't think he'd left that much of an impact on him during their years there.

"What time?"Jimin asked confused. Yoongi's eyes fell away from his gaze. "Because we went out for lunch a lot of times. Like that one time it was you, me and that girl from Biology who snorted pop up her nose and it was the funniest thing ever. Or when we tried spicy Ramen at that new restaurant and we both died because of how spicy it was or-" Jimin stopped himself with a sheepish look. "Sorry, I'm rambling,"
