Staring through a window

Newt bit his lip, staring through the window. It reminded him eerily of the time they went to pick up Olivia, except this hurt. Nobody was able to go inside the room until Tina gained her consciousness back, but even then Newt visited every day for a week. The healers noticed that he was super protective and assured him she was going to wake up soon. He sighed. Jacob and Queenie had stopped by earlier, but they left to have lunch. Newt wasn't hungry so he stayed to keep and eye on Tina. She looked so battered and broken, with scars all on her arms and covered in blood. He wanted to see her smiling and laughing at him, he wanted to hear her voice, and to hold her hand and tell her he was there. Newt glanced at his watch. 3:07. He should probably be heading back for lunch before Queenie whacks him with a broom again (funny story, once he got home without eating lunch at 5:00 and she whacked him really hard with a broom.). He turned around, but a voice stopped him in his tracks.

"Hello, Mr Scamander." He turned to see a healer. "She's awake, if you'd like to see her."

He gasped. "R-really? I can see her?"

"Yes." The healer laughed.

He turned and walked quickly into the room, slowing down and peeking through the door. Sure enough, Tina was awake and looking down. Her locket was in her hands. Newt cautiously walked closer until Tina noticed and looked up at him. Her face looked as though she had finally found what she had been looking for her whole life.

"Newt," she whispered.

She reached up and squashed Newt in a big hug, which he gladly returned.

"Tina, you're- you're awake!"

She grinned cheekily at him. "Well, yeah. Surprise?" Then she clicked her necklace off her neck and opened it. "Newt, I want you to look at this."

She held out her locket, and Newt took it from her hand.

"Open it," she said. He did. On one side, there was a cute picture of young Tina, young Queenie and who Newt guessed were their parents. On the other side was a worn picture, cut out of a newspaper of Newt at his book signing. He looked up at Tina.

"You- you kept it?"

She nodded. "It was from the newspaper. It's been in there ever since you published your book."

Newt held back tears.

"I love you, Newt. I'm so sorry for everything. I know I'm a horrible person, I've done horrible things, and-"

But Newt just kissed her.

Some fluff for y'all. There's going to be maybe one or two chapters left and then- wow. This will all be finished. Thanks you for being here and writing and do please leave a comment, I absolutely love hearing from people.

Sorry if it's a lil short, I'm not so good with writing romance-y stuff. I'm more of a person who writes about people dying.

Love,
