The foxes are coming!

It was just before dawn when they set out to destroy the foxes. Buzzardtail insisted that Firestar stay behind, but the old leader went with them anyway, saying

"What good is it to have borders, and not defend them?" As they approached the twoleg thing, the stench of fox was growing stronger with every paw step. Suddenly, a quick yelp was heard, and a roan red fox smashed into Darkstone. He clawed violently at the foxes ears and muzzle, making the dew riddled grass red. Buzzardtail launched himself at the twoleg thing, swiftly emerging with a thin black kit in his jaws. A yellow she-cat followed him with a white kit whom had sharp black stripes, both mother and kit were thin. Firestar helped Darkstone drive the fox back; Meanwhile, Buzzardtail ran back to the nest, and came out with an orange kit with black stripes. Once all of them weren't behind enemy lines, Firestar yowled

"Retreat!" He, Darkstone, and Buzzardtail each yanked a kit by it's scruff and shot towards camp. Morningsky began to fall behind, her thin body struggled for every paw step. Buzzardtail could hear yelping from a distance, the foxes must've rallied and began chasing them! Buzzardtail gave the kit he was carrying to Morningsky, who slowly staggered away, barely keeping the terrified kit from brushing the ground. Buzzardtail turned around, and with a screech, he launched himself at the nearest fox. With all his strength he dug his claws deep into the foxes eyes. The fox yelped, and tried to throw Buzzardtail off; he felt sharp teeth sink into his scruff and ripped him from the whimpering beast.

Once they reached camp Firestar thrusted Morningsky into his den- one of the highest and most secure place; Darkstone and Firestar waited outside.

"What happened to Buzzardtail?" Gasped Firestar.

Darkstone answered "I don't know! He was right behind me! Could the foxes...." He trailed off and looked toward the entrance. Out of nowhere Buzzardtail crashed through the entrance, a black and white she-cat followed him, but the yelping and snarling foxes wasn't close behind them.
