Firestar launched himself at the nearest fox, and dug his claws deep into it's chest. Darkstone swiped the other foxes nose, it leapt back yelping. Buzzardtail and the black and white she-cat also helped to drive the foxes back. While Firestar was keeping the mouse-brained fox distracted, Buzzardtail sprang upon it's back, his claws ripping into the fur and flesh beneath; it soon fell dead. With a yowl, Darkstone sank his teeth into the neck of the remaining fox, and it too fell dead.
Darkstone had s badly torn ear; the nameless she-cat had scratch marks all over her body; Buzzardtail was limping; and Firestar himself had bite marks along his spine.
"Who are... are you?" Gasped Firestar.
The she-cat answered "Frost." Frost padded to the medicine den and came back with some old herbs and cobwebs. As she began to help Darkstone, Firestar went to check on Morningsky and her kits.
"Mother I hear someone approaching!"
"Roarkit, get away from the entrance! "
"Mother...." As Firestar entered the den, three little kits pounced on him. Pretending to be a fox, Firestar snarled and barked. Two kits were on his back, while one preceded to cling to his leg.
"Roarkit! Horsekit! Come down from there! Shadowkit, come here!" Yowled Morningsky. The little kits listened to their mother, and curled up to her belly.
"Firestar, I am so sorry. They...." she trailed off.
He reassured "It doesn't bother me, Morningsky, I was just checking to see if you were alright."
Morningsky nodded "I have my paws full, but I'm happy to be here Firstar." He padded out of the den, and got himself checked out by Frost.
"How do you know so much about herbs Frost?" Asked Firestar.
Frost answered "I'd rather not say, buts cats have been visiting me in my dreams. Like this blind tom that calls himself Jay's wing or Jayfeather." Firestars eyes went wide.
"I hope you decide to stay with us Frost." Stated Firestar.
She nodded "I hope so too, Firestar."
