Percy POV

It was the day after quidditch tryouts, and I was excited to go to my first wizard classes. Of course, I would have to listen to Harry bragging about how he was the Captain/Seeker (again), and Ron boasting about his amazing saves as Keeper. I checked my schedule, and I had Potions with the Slytherins first, followed by Herbology with the Hufflepuffs and then Transfiguration, also with the Hufflepuffs before lunch. After Lunch, we had Care of Magical Creature with the Ravenclaws, then Divination with the Slytherins. Tommorow I had double Defense Against the Dark Arts with the Ravenclaws, then Charms. After lunch I had double Muggle studies and then free.

As soon as I walked into potions, I slid onto a bench next to Reyna and Piper. Slughorn walked in jovially, and made an announcement.

"Alright, everyone! It's been a long summer, and I'm sure your brains have turned to mush. So, we'll be starting off the year easily. You have the rest of the class to make any legal potion you desire, and the winner will get no homework for a week! Good luck!" he ends with a chuckle, and there is a mad dash for ingriendients from the cabinets.

I start flipping through my book, and I come across a potion that allows you to breathe underwater. Very funny. I decide to make it, since Leo wanted to go visit the giant squid with me and giving him this would be easier than creating a bubble for him. I pull out ingriedients, and set to work.

"Oy, Percy, why does your book look so funny? What language is that?" Ron blurts out from across the bench.

"You lot all have them!" Harry explains, looking from me, to the two girls, and then to Draco, who came to sit next to us.

"Yeah." I answer simply, setting back to work on my nearly finished potion. Harry and Ron are both making the most basic potion in the book, but they're not doing a very good job. Harry's is a dark green instead of silver, and Ron's is full of strange lumps that appear to be moving. I finish my potion and turn to Piper, who is nearly done with her makeup-removing potion.

"The girls in the cabin will love this! It's also hydrating!" She beams, and I smile at the fact that she still has a little Aphrodite girl in her. Reyna laughs, and stirs her Courage potion one last time.

"I thought that we were supposed to be bad at magic compared to them!" Reyna remarks, giggling a bit.

"Potter and Weasley always slack off in this class. Well, every class." Draco responds, adding an final scoop of lizard tails to his Talk to Animals potion.

"Okay, everyone, time's up!" Slughorn booms, standing up from his chair and walking around the classroom, surveying everyone's potions. As he passes Harry and Ron, he frown and wrinkles his nose at the foul smell coming from Harry's. When he passes Hermione, he shoots her a smile. 'Excellent work, as always, Ms. Granger."

At that, Hermione turns to me and smiles pridefully. I give her a thumbs-up, then watch Slughorn, who is eyeing Draco's potion. "Mr. Malfoy." Slughorn tells him, "Would you mind giving a dose of that to our friend Hagrid? I'm sure he has come animals he would love to chat with." Draco nods, and our teacher continues walking down the row. "Excellent, Ms. McLean. Same goes for you, Reyna."

Then Slughorn stands by me. "A very good choice, Mr. Jackson. Perfect product. I'm sure you'll find it very useful." he remarks, and the demigods and I all laugh. Slughorn continues walking around the room, then walks back to the front.

"Alright, I've made my decision. There were several fantasic potions, and I couldn't choose just one. Congratulations Pecy, Piper, Reyna, and Draco. Enjoy your homework-free week." At this, Hermons grons and begins sulking. Harry and Ron turn to each other in confusion, and begin to whisper secretively.
