oceanside residencies create perfect opportunities for every child's dream of endless summers. barefoot on blacktop, heat lightning, and alligator sightings are the true wonders of southern east coast usa. every day is a vacation — the garden city pier hides an arcade within its walls only fifteen minutes up the road. we grow up, though, and the skee ball machine is only a hang out spot for so long. we eventually tap into the internet and our hearts. when you grow up in the bible belt, endless summers don't mean the world forever. the unbound few find entrapment within this god-fearing paradise. population 106, the definition of 'small town,' is what turns would-be bigots into present day activists.
