"Where am I," I said, trying to look around but my vision too blurry to see, I realized I was barefoot and as I was about to take my first step; my legs failed me, and the next thing I remember was my head hitting the soft grass and passing out.
As I slowly regained consciousness, I was relieved that it was just a dream, or so I thought, I opened my eyes and realized that I wasn't home. As I turned my head, I saw something staring back at me, it wasn't a human, and it wasn't an animal.
"Aaahh," I screamed scrambling to the edge of whatever I was laying on,
"It's awake," the mysterious creature said,
"IT!, what have you done to me," I shouted waving my hands uncontrollably in my attempt to defend myself;
"Calm down, we found you unconscious, we don't know how you got here too," the mysterious creature said in an attempt to calm me down. The creature looked like something you'd find in books; Its hair was silk-smooth, unusually long, even longer than mine, and parted to the left. However, his human-like characteristics ended at his waist; Waist down, his features were similar to a horse, like a Centaur.
"You're not real; Centaurs are a myth," I repeated, pinching myself in an attempt to force myself to wake up.
"You must be joking," It said looking almost as confused as I was
"Centaurs are one of the most common species here; In fact, humans are a myth."
"No one has ever seen humans, you're the first to be seen, and you need to be shown to the Great Centaur,"
"I'm not going anywhere until you answer my questions," I said defensively. I noticed I was in a cottage that had a faint scent of lavender, the cottage was sparsely decorated, but it suited the Centaur, as it needed as much space as it could get.
"Okay, you can ask questions, but we have to get to the Great Centaur before the evening,"
"Where am I? What are you? Who is the Great Centaur? Am I on Earth?" I asked as the questions filled my head.as I couldn't control my confusion. As I was about to continue my bombardment of questions; I was interrupted by someone, or maybe something, knocking the door;
"I would answer most of your questions, but I have to answer the door," the Centaur said walking towards the door,
I braced myself for something out of the ordinary, but I was surprised to find an average-looking lady, but she was almost as tall as the Centaur. However, something felt off about her;
"I thought you said humans were a myth," I said feeling confused but also angry,
"I'm not a human silly," she said, almost immediately, it was like her body was reconstructing itself and the in less than a minute, she looked exactly like the Centaur.
"Zelpha is a shapeshifter so when she heard about you, she went to the Great Centaur's library and learned what she could on humans,"
"Also, I am called Heron," The Centaur said,
"What are you called?"
It took me about a minute to process everything that was happening, I almost passed out twice.
"My name is Phoebe Cambell," I said
"Why do you have two names?" Zelpha asked
"On earth, humans have more than one names, am I on earth?" I asked, hoping the answer would be yes.
"I've never heard of earth before, maybe it's in one of the scrolls at the Great Centaur's library," Heron said
"Also, Phoebe is a weird name, I'm going to call you Phoebus,"
