"Let's break up."

And Jungkook broke.

All his thoughts of looking strong and not blameworthy vanished the moment these words left her lips.

"No..." His body slammed against Tzuyu, who didn't react to his hug.

"No! No! No!" He chanted, tightening his hold and burying his face in the crook of her neck as hot tears streamed down his face and touched Tzuyu's cold skin.

"No, Tzu...."

That was all it took for Tzuyu's tears to leave her eyes.

"You already know how toxic we have become, Jungkook..." Tzuyu's hand came around his waist.

"Do you really think this is love? Do you feel those butterflies when I'm near? Do you feel contentment when I'm with you?" And that made Jungkook think.

Whenever they both were together, Tzuyu felt restless as if she was searching for something but could never find it. Even with Jungkook beside her, she was never content. However, Jungkook never paid much attention to this. For him, she was just there without any feelings. He never paid much attention to what he felt with her.

He felt normal, and that alone explains how careless the guy was.

"But I did, love you."

Jungkook lets go of Tzuyu, and his fingers come towards her face, tracing her details, his mind trying to capture the picture of her face.

"I'm going to hurt you really badly now. I am going to tell you everything I hid and buried inside me."

It was cruel of Tzuyu to do so, but she can't let him go just like that without letting him know about every little emotion she felt with him.

And Jungkook understood.

"You are the worst boyfriend I could ever have. Whenever we were together, you were always on your phone. Even with our skin touching, I never felt your presence. You never understood what I told you. I WANTED YOU TO KNOW THAT I WAS HURTING BAD!" Tzuyu paused, tears staining her cheeks as she caught her breath.

"Why did you make me ask myself if you loved me or my fucking body? I just wanted you to be there for me. Was being there for me that hard? Why did you never tell me about your life? About how you were hurting too? About how you died too? Why did you make me wonder if I was worthless to even listen to your problems? Why did you make me feel like I don't deserve to be in depression?" Jungkook's eyes, settled on the floor, made Tzuyu's emotions worse, it hurt her more.

"Why did you always hurt me? Why did you make me tell myself that you loved me? Why were you so careless? Why did you make me question every little thing about us? Why were you never there? Why do you never say anything? Why did you always let the silence take place between us? Why did you make me regret loving you? Why are you making me ask such questions?" Hands turning into fists before they punched Jungkook's chest, never stopping as the weight on Tzuyu's shoulders, slowly started lifting.

"I hate you. You are the worst. But I am going to forget everything except the good times. So, let me go now. I am walking out on all the promises we made. I am walking out on you. On us."

The break up isn't Jungkook's fault. But he sure could have saved them from it, if only he paid more attention to the girl who tried everything to endure it even when she was depressed and numb.

The girl who never once left his sight was slowly submerging in the air around him, fading right in front of his eyes.

And he couldn't do anything.

Inhaling massively, a smile captured Tzuyu's face, feeling a lot better after tormenting the guy in front of her for his whole life.

Jungkook was drowning in his sentiments when he witnessed Tzuyu smiling. Automatically, watching Tzuyu smile, his lips tugged upwards, his eyes brightening before they shattered, realizing how the girl in front of him is not his anymore.

After all, she was drawn into his alluring heart.

"Afterall, happy endings are forgotten easily, sad endings, leave a scar." He smiled, his bloodshot eyes staring at her eyes, which replicated his eyes.

"And you are not something to be forgotten. We are not something to be forgotten. I am sorry for everything. And thank you for everything." Tzuyu smiled, nodding at his words as she felt herself being stabbed.

But Tzuyu didn't know Jungkook did not mean a single word that escaped his lips. He just forced himself to do it.

"Can I kiss you one last time?"

It took just one nod of Tzuyu for Jungkook to crash his lips against her. Their lips moved in sync, savoring the taste because they know how they will never be able to taste it again.

Tzuyu's hands reached out to Jungkook's, holding his hand tightly, knowing from now on, she won't ever be able to hold his hands.

He was etched into her misfortunate existence.

Even with their tears mixing in the kiss, they savored it before Jungkook embraced Tzuyu, and Tzuyu found his arms comforting for the first time in years.

Maybe, because this was the last time.

Letting go of each other, their eyes never moved away from each other's as they both beamed.

"I love you, Tzuyu." Jungkook whispered.

But she didn't. She maybe never loved him. And maybe even Jungkook never loved her. She was just in pain and in need to feel the emotions those books, she read said, that love contained. As for Jungkook, maybe he just wanted someone by his side, someone who will always be there no matter what he does.

But this is, only, maybe.

"And I love you, Jungkook."

Then, it was finally over.

The two who kept saying they'll never separate from each other said goodbye in no time.

And just like that, they hit reverse.
