*Ring Ring*
Jungkook groaned in frustration as his hand reached out for his phone, before he grabbed it and picked the call up, his eyes closed as he was too tired to open them.
"Jungkook?"
Her voice.
Hearing her voice, all his sleep left his body as he sat up straight on his bed, his eyes glanced at the clock on the wall, which showed one in the morning.
"Tzuyu?"
Why would she call in the middle of the night? And that too after five years, out of a sudden?
Yes, it's been five years since they broke up. At first, it was difficult. After all, they spent nine years together. But later on, they started to gradually move on without them realizing.
They wondered if their nine years went in vain, but they don't know the answer to that question. They were happy how things turned out though, but still, they wished, how their younger self could have done better for their significant other so that years later, they wouldn't have to break up.
They remembered each other from time to time but not daily. Not once a week. Very rarely.
They followed each other on social media, so they were aware of whatever the other person was doing and how they were.
They chatted a few times but never for too long or never too much.
They also saw each other here and there and exchanged smiles.
Their breakup dug deeper than they thought and their random meetings hurt more than expected.
"I need to tell you something." Tzuyu spoke.
"Yeah, go on."
And then there was silence.
"I wanted you to be the first person to know this, that's why I called you right after it happened." Jungkook took the message well and realized what was to come, his stomach starting to clench.
"I am getting married."
His heart dropped.
"Congratulations!"
Jungkook did not love her like that anymore, but he sure does remember how he loved her, and the same goes for Tzuyu. That's why their feelings were mutual, but not exactly romantic.
But still, he couldn't ignore the pain tugging his heart as he imagined her marrying someone else before shaking his head.
"He just proposed to me tonight, and right after getting home, I called you." Tzuyu explains.
"So, is the guy the same guy with whom you upload pictures on Instagram?" Jungkook questioned.
"Yeah."
"Bring your girlfriend, you thirty years old uncle." Tzuyu mocks him as Jungkook hurriedly gets off his bed and puts his shoes on before grabbing his car keys and walking out of his house.
"Will do."
"I have seen her. She is so pretty." Tzuyu said, remembering the picture she saw on Instagram of her with Jungkook.
"I know." Jungkook blushed.
"I am planning to propose to her soon too." Jungkook smiled to himself, imagining his girlfriend's reaction.
"Hey, that's great!" Tzuyu exclaimed, her eyes shining with happiness, her brain completely ignoring the little tug of her heart.
"What about your depression?" Jungkook asked, not wanting his tone to sound worried, which indeed, he was.
