TW: Suicide and Death

Y/N

I eagerly stared at the clock. Kou's last words had kept me on edge all day. I mean, yes, I consider Hanako a friend and all but I barely know anything about him besides the fact that he's always gloomy and sad. That's why I've been trying to make him crack some form of a smile. . . I want to see him happy.

Thankfully, just to my luck, the bell rang. It was the end of the school day. I quickly made my way to my locker and packed my things. Kou hadn't mentioned anywhere specific he wanted to meet me but I'm sure it's somewhere outside. I had fastened my pace and sped walked to the front of the school. I made eye contact with some blue ones and knew it was him. He drastically towered over me. He smiled and sat down onto the grass. He motioned for me to sit beside him, which I did so.

"Why hello there too, Kou!" I joked. "Oh quite you-" he laughed. I softly chuckled and turned my body to face his. "So what were you trying to tell me?" I asked tilting me head. I knew this was important because he let out a sigh and then his smile vanished. "You need to know this, Y/N. . ."

"What do you mean?" I asked sitting up. This was starting to concern me. "Y/N you need to learn about her. . ." Her?
"About 4 years ago there was a girl just like you who summoned Hanako. Her name was Yashiro-San. Daikon for short. . ." He let out a soft hum. "She- She and Hanako had this really strong relationship. They were first just friends but their feelings grew. Hanako and Yashiro were always going through journeys and adventures together. . . The only way I even knew who he was, was because I was trying to exorcise him. My family and I are exorcists and it's been like this for hundreds of years. I was trying to kill Hanako, he thought he was evil. . . However, Yashiro-San. . . She wouldn't let me. After finding out that some supernaturals are harmless, I became friends with them. I may have even had a small crush on Yashiro-San too. . ." He smiled. I just nodded and listened. He spent 30 minutes telling me everything about this 'Yashiro' girl. She sounded so sweet.

I wasn't too interested until I heard about Hanako. "Hanako was once alive too. He died in the 1960s from an act of suicide. He had murdered his twin. . ." Kou stopped and looked up at me. My heart had stopped. Hanako. . . Hanako killed someone? The sad Hanako I know? " Afterwards, he killed himself. Ever since he's been a ghost. However the reason I'm still quite cautious of him is because- because as a ghost he can tell when someone is going to die. He knew when Yashiro-Senpai was going to die and he didn't tell anyone. We could've prevented this! The girl that we both liked died!!" he began to sob. I rubbed his back and leaned onto his head. Does this mean Hanako knows when I'll die? "I had to go to school and hear everyone's rude conversations about her and how it was better off that she died! I NEVER got to confess my love to her!" he sobbed some more. I starred at the floor and gave him a hug. He hugged me back and hid his face in my hair. "That's why- That's why I'm hoping you can bring him back to his usual self so then we can maybe see Yashiro-Senpai again!" he pulled back and looked into my eyes. I sat there blinking as his grip on my shoulders tightened. "I heard that some ghosts can summon others. . . Please help me see her again. . ." He sobbed. I slowly nodded. I got up and thanked Kou for the conversation and went to find Hanako.

If anyone, I need to hear his side of the story. I want to know if he knows when I might die. Maybe he can even tell me when my Grandma might die. She's been so sick lately that I- I'm worried. I need to know so I can mentally prepare myself.

I slammed the door open. "Hanako-Kun!" I yelled. He was crying. I stopped in my tracks and ran over to him for comfort. I shushed him and calmed him down. "Y/N- I- Why am I always letting others down." He sobbed. "What are you talking about Hanako-Kun?" I asked resting my chin on his hat. "I- I-. . ."

"I told him that." An anonymous voice said behind me.

I turned my head and was faced to face with another Hanako. "Who are you?" I asked glaring. The boy chuckled and looked over to Amane. "Y/N, you know he's going to leave you like he left me and that other girl~" "What the hell? I don't know who you are but I'm not going to believe a word you say!" I grumbled. The boy snickered darkly and put his finger under my chin. "Oh Hanako~ Haven't you told her yet?" The boy asked Hanako who was still crying and trembling. "Let go of me!" I smacked his arm away. The boy gave me a death glare before looking over to Hanako. "You better tell her soon before she dies, just like that other girl you liked so much." I had enough by now. "I glared at the boy as he walked away. I looked down to Hanako to see that he was sobbing and staring up at me.

"Care to explain?" I asked smiling.

He cried and nodded.

"Okay-" he sobbed out.
