After Alex dropped me off I wandered throughoit the house and saw mum and Aunt Sunni were still gone, I had gone up to my room and hooked my camera into my computer so I could save the pictures we had took today for back-up in case anything happens to my camera; but as I'm saving a picture of Shelby I noticed something. "What the hell is that?" I mumbled, I squinted but still couldn't see it clearly so I zoomed in and anhanced the picture so I could see it clearly but it still didn't make sense. "It's just an arm." I muttered to myself, I tried to put it off as just another hijer like earlier but this time it was more difficult however at that moment my phone rang; looking at the caller id made me scowl, it was dad. I declined the call, it's been nearly a month since mum and I moved out if the house and just a few days since we've been in Forks why would he wait this long to contact me? He obviously doesn't care and I didn't feel like listening to the whole 'I was busy with work' speech, maybe he was busy nailing that stupid secretary I thought to myself.

I quickly closed everything and logged off the computer before plopping down on my bed and deciding to finish the homework I never got to yesterday, it was a short time later as I was nearing the middle of the book for english class having finished my history homework already when I heard the front door open and mum called out. "We're home! Lena, you here?" I marked my page before making my way downstairs and into the living room where both women were relaxing.

"Hey mum, how was Seattle?" I asked as I sat beside her while Aunt Sunni was on her laptop in one of the chairs.

"Oh it was good, your aunt and I went to this spa to get massages and some facials. Then we went and got manicures after that we grabbed a bite, then we did a little shopping then we came home. How was your day honey, have a good time with those girls from school?" I smiled as I locked gazes with Aunt Sunni to which she cocked her head to the side.

"Yeah I had a great time with my friends mum." Aunt Sunni and I shared a smile as mum hugged me to her.

"Well I'm glad, what did you girls do?" She asked.

"This girl Alex took me and our other friend Shelby to this really pretty clearing and we took some pictures and talked, oh you wouldn't believe it mama it was so dang pretty. Oh lemme get my camera and I'll show you the pictures." I was quick to race upstairs to grab my camera before making my way back to the living room, as I took a seat I saw both women looked at me a little suprised. "What?" I furrowed my brows as I looked at both of them, they didn't say anything for a few moments before Aunt Sunni spoke up.

"It's just, you used your southern twang a few minutes ago." I tilted my head in thought.

      "I did?" I asked a bit confused, I hadn't even noticed.

"Yes honey you did, did you mean to? Usually you're so good about keeping it hidden." Mum added,  I bit my lip before turning to her.

"Well, I was talking to Alex and Shelby and I thought maybe about using it a bit more."

      "Really? What changed your mind?"

"I told them how when we first moved to Illinois and how I got teased for my accent, then I told them about how dad taught me to hide it. They told me I shouldn't hide it because it's a part of who I am, they also said they like it when my twang comes out so I've decided to use it again." I explained, I paused for a moment and wondered if I should tell mum he called; I wasn't sure if I should but then again I didn't really wanna keep things from her. "Hey mum? Before I show you the pictures I need to tell you something."

"What is it honey?" I took a deep breath before looking at her.

"Dad called me just before you guys got home but I didn't answer cuz I'm still pretty mad at him." Mum looked shocked for a moment before she took a deep breath and nodded.

"Is this the first time he's tried to call you?"

"Yeah, I don't really know why or why he's waited this long."

"I don't know either Lena but you let me know if he tries to call again okay? And don't feel like you have to answer, if you want to that's okay but if you don't want to that's okay too." I nodded and let out a heavy breath. "Now show me these pictures." I gave her a small smile and showed her all the pictures we took today as I did so I pointed out Shelby and Alex. "Wow, Lena you're really good. Who took the ones of you?" Mum asked.

"Oh Shelby did, she takes pictures for the school newspaper." I explained.

"Wow, this clearing is so pretty. Your friend Alex took you?"

"Yeah, she told me and Shelby that her dad takes her and her twin brother Tommy hiking there all the time."

"Hm, what about her mum? Does she go too?"

"Huh, I actually don't know. She's never mentioned her mum before but I've only known both of them for a few days, I'm sure she'll tell me about her soon." Mum nodded however it got me thinking, how come Alex didn't talk about her mum?
