History went by faster than normal though I'm not completly sure why, I was at my locker when Alex came up to me a tad grumpy. "Hey, what's wrong?" I asked.
"My brother is hanging out with our cousins right now and dad bailed as my ride, think you can give me a lift?" She asked as she sighed dramatically, I smiled and nodded.
"Yeah sure, go ahead to the car I'll be there in a minute." She walked off with that, I gathered the last of the books I needed and shoved them in my bag then slammed my locker before taking my phone to text mum letting her know I was giving Alex a lift. I was in the middle of texting when I felt eyes on me, looking up I saw Jasper staring at me with a blank expression on his face while he leaned against his bike; I blushed and looked back down as I finished my text, but that's when it all changed.
People always go on and on about not texting and driving, though maybe Forks should have a law about people not texting when it rained thus causing the roads to be slippery than hell; I got first hand experience on how dangerous it could be that day. It happened so fast, I had just sent the text to mum when I could hear the distinct sound of tires squealing on the blacktop. Turning I saw the familiar red of Brody's sedan as it was sliding towards me and the side of another car at a fast rate, too fast for me to avoid it; they say before you die your life flashes before your eyes, that didn't happen the only thing on my mind was Jasper and how I'd never see him again. I closed my eyes and waited for the car to hit, I felt myself fall to the ground and I waited for the pain of the crash as I heard metal crashing against something; however I waited for another minute and the pain still didn't come, opening my eyes they widen when I saw why.
There was Jasper as he crouched next to me with one strong arm wrapped around my waist while the other was stretched out in front of him, following his arm I let out a gasp; his hand was all but imbedded in the strong metal that was Brody's passenger door, I slowly turned back and faced Jasper. He wore a somber expression as he stared into my eyes, how did he get over here so fast? I thought; however he left just as fast.
"Lena!" A lot of people screamed but Alex and Shelby's voices stood out the most, everyone clambered over to check on Brody and I. "Oh my god, Lena are you okay?" My face was held as my eyes finally met Shelby's as she frantically search me for any injury, I wanted to tell her I was fine but I couldn't seem to find my voice. "Someone call 911, she's not saying anything!" She called out, she carefully wrapped her arms around me incase I had injuries she couldn't see.
"I have them on the phone, Brody looks like he has some minor injuries himself." I heard Alex's voice call out as my face was pressed to Shelby's chest I looked back over to the side of Brody's damaged car, he pushed the car away, he saved my life I told myself but an even more intruiging thought came to mind when I heard several sirens letting everyone know the paramedics were close by; how was Jasper so fast and strong?
Forks hospital, it was bigger than I thought it'd be. There was kind and well trained staff, a large ER since that was all they mostly needed with a town this small, as well as a gift shop and anything else a hospital was required to have; but it didn't matter to me, I still didn't want to be here seeing as how I hated hospitals ever since I was young and that still didn't change. But there I sat on a hospital bed in the ever buzzing emergency room with a nurse taking my blood pressure as I blocked out Brody's constant apologies which wasn't hard since I was still thinking about the way Jasper acted back at school.
It's just not humanly possible, there's no way he would be able to make a dent that big in Brody's car not by himself anyway.. how did he do it? I kept asking myself. I was more in shock by Jasper's actions than the accident itself, Shelby was able to stay with me from the ride in the amblance to right now which I was thankful for. She held my hand and had told the nurse I hadn't uttered a word since the whole accident happened, Brody decided to apologize once again and it was getting quite annoying; however the next person who had barged through the doors would honestly top Brody on the annoying meter.
