The Park

The next morning Sonic woke up snuggled up to Tom and Maddie. Ozzie was at the end of the bed. He noticed that they were still sleeping. So he went back to sleep. An hour later he woke up again and noticed that Tom and Maddie got out of bed. He sat up and crawled out of bed. He slowly walked into the kitchen and saw Tom and Maddie drinking coffee. Sonic rubbed his eyes and yawned. Tom looked over at Sonic and smiled. "Good morning Sonic." Tom said before taking a sip of his coffee. "Good morning Donut Lord." Sonic said. He looked over at Maddie and said, "good morning Pretzel Lady." Sonic said. "Good morning Sonic." Maddie said with a soft smile. "Hey Sonic, about that dream last night." Tom said. Sonic looked at Tom and then down at the floor. "Umm well." Sonic said. "What happened?" Maddie asked. "Sonic had a bad dream last night and he came into our room crying last night. That's why he was in our bed this morning." Tom explained. "Oh." Maddie said. Tom walked over to Sonic and crouched down to his level. "It's ok sonic you can tell me what it was. It was just a nightmare." Tom said softly. Sonic looked up at Tom and took a deep breath. "Well I woke up in a dark room and no body else was with me. So I stood up and yelled for you guys but you didn't answer. But then this black figure started chanting mean things like 'go back to where you belong' and 'nobody loves you'. And it kept knocking me down as I was trying to stand." Sonic said. Tom and Maddie hugged him. "Sonic no matter what anyone says you do belong here and we all love you." Maddie said. "You never have to feel hated or not wanted." Tom said. Sonic closed his eyes and embraced the hug. He took a deep breath. "Thank you." Sonic said. "Your welcome." Tom said. They all let go and did their morning routine. It was around 12:00 and they were in the living room watching tv. All of a sudden Maddie got an idea. "Hey! Do you guys want to go to the park?" Maddie asked. "Yaaa!!" Sonic yelled in excitement. "Alright go get ready to go!" Maddie said. "So were going to the park." Tom said smiling. "Yep! Come on!" Maddie grabbed Toms hand and pulled him to the front door. "Maybe he could make a new friend!" Maddie said. "That would be cool." Tom said. "I'm ready!" Sonic said. "Alright let's go!" Maddie said while holding her hand out for Sonic to grab. Sonic grabbed Maddie and Toms hand and they walked off. They got to the park and when Sonic stepped foot on the play ground he noticed all the kids there. He hid behind Tom. "It's ok Sonic it's just kids." Maddie said. "Yeah you can make some friends out there." Tom said. "Um." Sonic said. He peaked over at some kids playing in sand, then to some sliding on a slide, the. Some kids playing on monkey bars. "Go on." Maddie said with a soft smile on her face. Sonic looked back up at her with worry on her face. Maddie crouched down to his level. "I don't wanna." Sonic said. Maddie sighed. Just then a little girl with blonde hair walked up to the park with her parents. She looked around for a bit before hiding behind her mother. She looked over at Sonic doing the same. She noticed Sonic was looking at her too. "Go make a friend." Maddie whispered. Sonic looked down. "Hi." Sonic said quietly. "Hi." The girl said. Sonic looked up with a small smile on his face. "My name is Sonic. What's yours?" Sonic asked. "I'm Crystal." Crystal said. "Wow that's a pretty name." Sonic said. "Thank you!" Crystal said with a smile on her face. "Come on let's go play!" Crystal said. "Ok!" Sonic said. They both ran off. "They're so cute." Maddie said. "I know right." Tom said back. Sonic and Crystal were playing in the sandbox. All of a sudden a Bully came up to them. "Hey!" The bully yelled. Sonic and Crystal both looked up in fear. "This is my sandbox." He said. He looked at Sonic and screamed. "What are you! A blue cat?!" The bully yelled before laughing. Sonic had tears in his eyes. Tom looked over and saw the scene. "I'm gonna go check out what's happening." Tom said before walking away. "Your a blue alien!!" The bully said. Everyone was looking at Sonic pointing fingers and whispering. Tom walked over. "What's going on?" Tom asked. "There's a blue alien in the sandbox!" The bully said. He looked at Sonic and saw tears running down his cheeks and saw Crystal rubbing his back. Tom picked up Sonic and carried him home. When they got inside Maddie went to make dinner. Tom and Sonic watched tv. "Tom?" Sonic said. "Yes?" Tom replied. "Am I a m-monster?" Sonic asked. Toms eyes widened. He looked at Sonic. "No! No your not. You're a hedgehog and it's always been that way." Tom said. "Don't listen to that bully." Maddie said while walking into the room with dinner. Sonic nodded and they all ate their dinner and then went to bed. Sonic was laying in bed thinking. "Am I a monster?"
