This distance between you and I
Is to keep you safe of me,
Because I'm not what you think you see.
You see a smile,
But there is tears burning to get out
You see a laugh,
But it is only a disguised cry
You see a happy face,
But because is what I let you see.
And you want to know why I won't let these tears free?
Because these tears are like a river
And my smile is the dam
That keeps you safe
From my flood of sadness
