Chapter 8

  "Woo! We're league champions ladies!"
Sakura and Ino cheered from on top of a kitchen countertop. Their volleyball team had just won an important sports title, and Ino decided to throw a celebratory after party. "Woo!" Hinata responded  while throwing her arm around TenTen.
"Get down, you're going to hurt yourselves." Shikamaru said to the girls while extending both of his hands to help them down. Sakura listened, but Ino smiled sweetly at him, before saying, "Catch me!"

"Oh God." Sakura said, while he shook his head. "No, stop!" She laughed, before obnoxiously jumping into his arms. Sakura laughed at the both of them, before smiling at Hinata and TenTen.
"Let's take a shot?" Sasuke watched Sakura from across the room, with a water bottle in his hand.
He knew he'd have to be the designated driver for all of his friends, because they were already intoxicated. He talked to her before and after the game, but he wasn't sure how she wanted to act at the party, so he stayed with his friends, and she seemed to be doing the same.

"Sasuke, you have to play beer pong with me!" Naruto said while throwing his arm around Sasuke's shoulders. "I can't, Naruto." He pouted,
"Why? We're the best team!"
"I can't drink tonight, remember?"
"Oh right, you're our DD." He nodded, "Hm, who should I ask then?" His ocean eyes scanned the room, looking from his friends who were occupied, to Hinata and her best friend. He watched her giggle, and it made him smile. "Nevermind."

Walking toward the two laughing girls, he placed one of his hands on Hinata's hip. "Hinata?" Her eyes stared into his as she blushed. "Y-yes?"
"Want to play beer pong?"
"She'll throw up." Sakura said, Hinata pouted, clearly already drunk. "No I won't! I'd love to play, Naruto." She said while putting her arms around his waist, and following him toward the backyard where the game was being played.

As soon as they left Sakura alone, a guy she didn't recognize brought her a drink, while flirting with her. Sasuke watched while he stood with his friends.
Sakura remained oblivious while she had casual conversation with the guy in front of her. She wasn't aware that he was flirting with her, until he placed his hand on her knee. "Oh so you don't go to Konoha?" He nodded, "I graduated last year actually, I just happened to be in town, and Ino needed help with getting beverages."

"So you're in college?" He nodded, while taking a swig of his beer, and looking from her exposed cleavage, to her emerald eyes. "Sure am."
"That's hot." She said making him laugh,
"It is?" She nodded, while running her fingers up and down his tattooed forearm.
Sasuke couldn't do anything, but watch her flirt with him. "Are you just letting her flirt with him, Sasuke? Come on." Ino said, making the boys look in Sakura's direction.

"We're not dating." He said with a shrug, "Could've fooled me." She said while rolling her eyes, before walking toward her friend and Yahiko. "Sakura." She said while looking at her friend, with her arms crossed. "Yes?"
"Hey, Yahiko, can I steal her for a second?" He nodded, "Sure." Grabbing her friend by her arm, she pulled her aside. "What the hell are you doing?"

"What? He's hot." Sakura said while playing with her hair as she winked at Yahiko. Ino laughed, "You're so drunk."
"No I'm not."
"Then why haven't you noticed Sasuke all night?" She asked Sakura, making her stop looking at Yahiko. "Shit you're right. He's hot too." Ino nodded, "Come on." As they walked back to their friends, Sakura asked, "Is he mad? He probably doesn't even care."
"Well you were having fun." Temari commented making Sakura roll her eyes, "I'm single." Ino rolled her eyes, "You're annoying."

Sasuke's eyes stayed on her as she ignored it. It's not that she was annoyed or anything, it's just that he hadn't taken any initiative the entire night to talk to her. "I'm not drunk enough." She said with a fake smile, before starting back to the kitchen. Sasuke grabbed her wrist, "Maybe you shouldn't."
"Oh, so now you decided to talk to me?"
"What are you talking about?" He asked making her roll her eyes. "I'm not drunk enough for this conversation."
