"Why do you keep touching your head. You're messing up your hair you know," Keith said pointing at my light brown hair.

"I fell off my bed yesterday," I groaned.

I had fallen out of my bed while I was asleep and somehow in the process I managed to slap my head on the floor.

It was not a pretty sight.

"I'm driving in case you somehow fall off the car," He said snatching my keys from the counter.

"It's 7:00. We better go," I said looking at my phone screen.

"Do you have your ID?" He asked.

"Yes, Mom," I said dangling the thing in front of him.

"Just checking since you wouldn't be able to get in without it," Kieth said opening my door.

"You think we'll win this year?" I asked locking my door.

"With my sisters class as our main rival? No, definitely not," He said as we got in the elevator.

"Are they really that good." I said.

"Yeah, our poor innocent selves are gonna die by the hands of them," He said.

"Sheesh. Your sister sounds deadly," I said my face forming a grimace.

"Her friends are deadlier by a hundred," He said starting up the engine of my white Mercedes.

The engine roared to life and we rode off into the distance. A blue and white school building popped into view at some point during the ride. I look at it with bored eyes. It was the exact same building as the school I went to; West View High.

It wasn't my first time coming here to attend a school event such as the annual fun fest. I opened the car window and as I did the cool breeze flooded into the car. It was getting colder as December neared though it rarely snowed.

We arrived in the ginormous parking lot that held a lot of cars, bikes, and other vehicles. Keith tossed me my keys as we entered the school yard. We went over to where our friends were. They were already lined up next to the seniors from East View.

We didn't stand for long as we had arrived quite late because of traffic. I was looking at the gate. Students who just barely made it on time came in one by one.

"Yo Jack," Ethan said, he was in front of me.

"Yeah?"

"What are you staring at?" He asked as his gaze landed on what I was looking at.

"Are you spying on the freshman?" He said.

"What? What the heck. No!" I said furrowing my eyebrows.

"Oh peesh. It's okay if you have a new crush on someone," He said which earned a him a slap on the head from Keith.

"You, my friend, are really insensitive sometimes," Keith said as Ethan scowls at him.

"Don't look now but Jordan's looking your way," Keith said looking past my head.

"And? What should I do about it," I said not wanting to deal with that douche.

"Really. It's been how long since it happened? That douche still hasn't moved on. Huh," Keith said, his tone frustrated.

"I don't think he ever will," I said honestly.

"You can't end up like him. You got that," He said punching my shoulder.

"Yeah yeah. Whatever," I said slapping his head back.
