I pick the black checker piece on the right side of the board to jump the two red pieces that sit diagonally from it.  Xavier groans as I take two more of his pieces away.  He has become quite the sore loser when it comes to checkers.  He only has four pieces remaining, and the game has just begun minutes ago.  I giggle at the pout forming on his lips.  While he may suck at checkers, he wins every time in making my heart swoon.

The familiar black mist enters the little shack meaning dickwad is about to wake up.  I huff as I look over my shoulder to see his fingers beginning to twitch.  I look back at Xavier and gesture for him to do the honors.  After all, I have run out of creative ways to kill the motherfucker.  I also got to kill him the last time Xavier and I were tasked of watching over him.  It has become a little routine for us ghosts.  We take shifts killing and watching the Night Stalker.  Even after years of doing this, we all still get a rush of joy from killing him all over again.

Xavier's blue eyes sparkle at the gesture.  He walks over to the little tool shed within the shack and chooses his weapon wisely.  His favorite, as of late, is the chainsaw.  He revs the engine and slices Ramirez without a second thought.  Blood splatters on the blonde, but he doesn't seem to mind.  He places the chainsaw back on its holster and sits across from me once more to finish the game he is inevitably going to lose.

He manages to jump one of my pieces.  The smile that forms on his lips is undeniably the cutest thing I have ever seen.  It is like a toddler on Christmas morning opening all the gifts Santa left them.  I try hard to suppress my own smile.

The shack door creaks open.  My hazel eyes shift to Bertie and Chet as they cross the threshold.  Xavier and I reluctantly stand up from our game that will have to go unfinished.  Chet points to Ramirez.  Xavier nods his head in confirmation.

"I just put him out."  He informs as we trade places with the pair.  "Shouldn't be much for you to do."

I close the shack door behind us as we enter the sunlight.  Xavier takes my hand, and I entwine out fingers together.  Our feet carry us through the underkept weeds as we enter the forest to return to the main part of camp.  He guides us down the wooden stairs leading to the dock knowing it has become my favorite place in the whole camp.

He takes off his shoes and I follow his actions.  We let our feet dangle in the water, my head resting on his shoulder.  His arm planted close to my back for stability.  It's probably a few minutes before sunset since the blue sky starts to turn purple.  The calming sound of the water hitting against the dock makes everything about this scene breathtakingly beautiful.

Of course, only to be ruined seconds later by Sloane jumping into the lake.  Water splashes over Xavier and I to completely soak us.  Sloane pops up smoothing her long brown hair back against her head.  A wide smile plasters on her face.

"Greetings, love birds."  She utters as she treads the water with a steady rhythm.

Xavier kicks water at her with his feet.  He chuckles having no ill intent.  Sloane responds by splashing him back, which means splashing me, too.

"Who the hell says, 'greetings'?"  Xavier laughs.

Sloane swims to the edge of the dock.  She places both of her hands on the edge.  Her brown eyes staring up at the both of us.

"I don't know.  I guess I do now."  She dips her head back into the water to only get the crown of her head wet.

Sloane and Xavier have always been friends, but as soon as him and I started dating, it's as if the two share a sibling like relationship.  I guess that makes sense seeing as I always saw Sloane as my sister, but it warms my heart nonetheless.  I suppose all of us dying here has something to do with it, too.  We all have become closer since the night Margaret died.  Even Montana and I made amends.
