Something starts happening in the stage. Dano doesn't understand it at first. To be honest, she never expected much from her character. When she found out she was an extra, she was merely glad that she was at least treated nicely, and she had a sweet love interest—ha! Here was the catch.

Gyeong is going to break her heart.

Not because he wants to, whether he's aware of that fact itself or not. Not because this idea has at all crossed his mind of his own accord. But because it adds flavour to Saemi and Haru's precious love story.

Saemi gets pissed at Haru, who is suddenly cold to her for no reason. (That's what Dano says. In the comic book, the writer insists that he is afraid of getting hurt, so he turns into an asshole. Is that not the most overused cliche?)

Anyway—Saemi begs Baek Gyeong to pretend to be her boyfriend, or just be interested in her, or whatever. And Gyeong, who is such a do-gooder and pushover, agrees. They've just finished flirting openly on campus grounds. But here's the spicy bit: despite Gyeong's commitment to this fake relationship or fake feelings, he has real feelings for Dano. So he's at odds with himself.

Eun Dano, the character herself, hasn't seen Saemi and Gyeong's show with her naked eyes. But she's about to receive the news from her roommate.

"You think it's happening soon?" Dano asks Juda, looking up from the page where Gyeong has is arm around Saemi's shoulders as they walk to the café.

"The scene with you and me? Oh yeah. I told you, I was just there," Juda scoffs a dry laugh, fiddling with something in her hands. "I know what I'm going to say already."

"What?"

"I told you, he's no good for you! I told you he was gonna break your heart!" Juda whinges in a pinched tone. It's so funny that Dano breaks into a laugh despite herself—despite the small jealous flare she feels upon seeing Gyeong with Saemi. "Oh Dano, you poor soul!"

"Noo wayy," Dano drawls. "Your character isn't that caring."

Juda laughs, "Maybe."

"You'll be like: See, I told you. You fool."

"Pathetic."

"Loser."

KRRCHK.

Dano opens her eyes. She and Juda stand at the balcony of one of the wings; it's the same balcony she had stood on with Gyeong, in an earlier stage. Dano's eyes hang low to the floor, and she can't raise them when she tries. Her long term hair blows in the wind.

Juda says, "See? What did I tell ya?" She sighs. "I told you he would break your heart."

"A-Are you... are you really sure about this?" Dano breathes, sounding so unbearably weak. If Baek Gyeong really did this to her in the shadow, she would verbally abuse him to death. She'd be like: "If you don't like me, just say so, you asshole."

But, no! In the world of the writer, nothing goes the way you really want it to. Nothing changes in this world. Ever.

"Yes. I'm sure," Juda sounds solemn. "Sorry, Eun Dano."

Whoa. Dano wants to laugh. She's sure neither of them were expecting that.

She doesn't say anything in return.

Someone comes up behind them and they both look over. It's Gyeong. As soon as he sees Dano, he seems frozen. Already guilty. Dano would sneer if she could. That's what you call pathetic: he can't even live well in the moment of his crime.
