Chapter 9

In the green room
Frosty. Has anyone seen Kevin and stacey
Pash. No. They haven't answered any of us
Jan. They didn't turn up this morning
Di. And they aren't in their hotel room
Just then Stacey and kevin walked through the door and they had both been crying
Neil. This can't be good
Kevin shook his head and they all stood up.
Ash. What's wrong.
Kev. Well umm stacey do you want me to or?
Stace. Go ahead.
Kev. Well umm last night she was in really bad pain we went to the hospital and they said there was a 90% chance of miscarriage and ummm we either had to stop the pregnancy or Stacey was at a huge risk
Gio. So what did you do
Kev. Stopped it obviously.
They all gave them hugs and stacey started crying.
Kev. Aww baby come here. It's not your fault. We can't help what happens
Stace. It is. I shouldn't have danced in the first place
Ash. Hunni dont say that. You didn't know. Everyone is different I mean I was doing flips and tricks on a trampoline when I was six months pregnant
Gio. It's true she was
Stace. I guess
Kevin pulled her into his chest and kissed the top of her head.
Faye. How about you two go back to the bus and we will come in a bit. Then you can calm down a bit and settle down before the kids overrun the place
Kev. Ye ok
They walked out and the others sat down and started talking
Pasha. I don't think I've ever seen kev as upset
Neil. Me neither and I've known him a long time
Dianne came in crying so Faye scooped her up
Faye. What a matter darling
Dot. Auntie stacey and uncle kevvy sad so I sad
Pasha. Aww munchkin. It's ok. We are going to get everyone in the bus soon so you can talk to them then
She nodded and gorka walked in and dianne ran up to him.
Gorks. Hiya. Where's kev and Stace
Neil. They've gone to the bus mate. They just need some Umm time
Gorka covered Diannes ears.
Gorka. I heard them talking. Do you want me to go and get the others
Ali. If you don't mind pal
Gorks. Not at all. I'll try and settle them down a bit so Stace and Kev aren't as you know
He took dianne with him and came back with Dianne in one arm and Amy in the other and the rest of the kids behind him
Pash. You're a good lad gorka.
Ash. Right come on kiddies on the bus we go.
They all loaded onto the bus and the kids were actually really chilled out. Dianne went and sat with Kevin and stacey
Dot. Auntie stacey ok
Stace. Yeah.
Dot. You no sad any more
Stace. No darling. Just didn't feel well
Dot. Feel sickie
Stace. Ye but I'm better now
Di nodded and ran over to her mum and dad and Stacey rested her head on Kevins chest.
Kev. When the time's right it'll happen and you'll be a great mum.
Gorka came and sat across from Stacey and Kevin and looked at them sympathetically.
Gorks. I heard you talking earlier. I'm sorry
Kev. It's all good mate. So how are you and your bird
Gorks. Ok actually. We went out last weekend but with this four I don't see her much so when it's over I'm gonna take her out
Stace. Aww that's sweet.
Kev. Just get her chocolates. It keeps girls happy
Stace. He speaks the truth you know
Gorks. Cheers Kev. I'll keep that in mind.
He gave stacey a hug and shook Kevs hand and went to the back of the bus
Stace. I don't think I can have kids by myself kev. It was really painful. I don't want to do it again. Please don't make me
Kev. That's ok. You don't have to. I'm not going to force you to carry a kid. There's other options. We could always adopt one from wen they are first born. That's an option and then they can grow up with us
Stace. Ye I guess but you're not mad are you?
Kev. Of course not. It's your body I can't force you to do anything with it or to it. We can just go at our own pace and take things one step at a time right.
She nodded and everyone on the bus had soon enough fallen to sleep
